man last night i was on my enh shaman and i was grouped up with an elem. shaman and we were 2-manning Shadows of Doom around those scourge crystals... it felt so awesome. we got 4 epics and like 200-something of those necrotic stones.
maelstrom weapon is so fucking awesome. he dropped totem of wrath and i was critting for 1800-2k on lightning bolts... we traded off bloodlusts and i used the doggies to keep me healed. once their timers ran down i hit shamanistic rage to get mana back and help sponge some damage and then just used maelstrom to heal myself/lightning bolt. he was healing and dps'ing... it was pretty intense and a total blast.
YOU are afflicted with Cheap Shot.
You use Shamanistic Rage.
You use Medallion of the Horde.
You use Feral Spirit.
Your Feral Spirit stuns Rogue.
Mmmm. Delicious counter ganking.
yep... it depends on how good the rogue is though. if they are good enough they'll overlap the stuns and i cant do shit except hope that they dont get huge crits before the stun breaks. if not then i can use FS and maybe drop an earthbind and run a bit away and laugh while they are enveloped in a storm of teeth and growls while i'm getting healed. my sta is 550 and i'm still trying to work on it. i have 8.8k hp atm, which is a bit more than average for what i see shammies sitting at, but it still doesnt feel like enough. that and attack power.
by the by, the talent that makes earthbind break snare effects is totally worth it if you're doing a lot of pvp.

working toward one though. i got impatient (/stupid) and dumped my honor on new weps instead of the MotH.

DONT wast your honor one one (unless you want it before 58-60) because (and i dont know if this applies to horde as I did it on my ally toon) when you get to the honor hold/whatever the horde equivilent is, you get a PVP quest to capture the three towers in that area and the reward was the Insignia of the Alliance. I picked this quest up not more than five minutes after i had wasted my honor on the Insignia. I just realized that you said Medallion of the Horde rather than Insignia, is this a different trinket?
The medallion is a 2 minute cd, the low level insignia is 5 minutes.

Is there an addon to show how long your wolves got left? I love the little buggers but it's damn inconvenient not knowing when they're gonna expire.

Y'all who played in Beta, and to save me an hour of comparing quests in Wowhead, which of the Northrend starting zones has better rewards for an Enhancement Shaman ?

Don't forget you'll be disarmed for 6 seconds after the two stuns wear off. Both hands.

This is indeed a very important question.
Just comparing one handed non-sword weapons, Borean Tundra looks far superior. All howling fjord has is two 2.6 speed green fist weapons and a 2.2 speed green mace, while the tundra has a blue 2.8 speed fist weapon and a green 2.9 speed axe, as well as various other fists and maces.
It does look like the tundra has like 40 more quests and 8/5ths the quest rewards compared to the fjord though, so it might take you longer I guess?
I got the main hand fist from UK on my protection warrior this weekend. It's by far better than anything I had before for tanking (Grom'tor's Charge) or DPS (Headless Horseman's Blade), so I use it all the time now. It looks so bad ass tanking with it.
So who here is loving lava burst? My soloing ability went through the roof when I hit 75. In a bolt, bolt, flame shock, lava burst rotation, if any of the first three spells crit I've generally killed the mob just as it reaches me. The quested lightning capacitor-ish trinket from Dragonblight helps too.
i finally got my T6 shaman 'ready' for the xp. DE'd all his enhance gear [most of which was BT/MH loot I got after eveyone else had theirs in case I was ever needed for melee -- I wasn't]. Compressed his Elemental/Resto sets into 2 sets + extras (most trinkets / rings) rather than all the extra "mp5 fight; haste fight; crit fight; etc". So now I finally have bag space for questing again and am ready to go.
It's just so hard to take him to Northrend and think about getting new gear when he looks so BADASS on the loading screen in full T6.
That item, Edge of the Tuskarr, is the slowest green or better one handed weapon to have been put in the game since the grand marshall/ high warlord stuff. Perfect for leveling enhancement shamans.

I'm in half T4/half T5 with some other random things thrown in and I think the only thing I've replaced was my necklace. And I'm about to hit 74, so don't worry about replacing anything.

And it's alliance only.
I have this sitting in my pack right now. I respecced to Enh to try it out, but was getting half the DPS as ele and went back.

I still have Kovork's Rattle sitting in a mule's bank for some sort of twinking situation that will never actually happen.

What's the current hotness with shaman these days?
After playing a resto druid when the cap was 60, and a holy priest when the cap was 70, I think this time around I want to go dps and I've always had a thing for shaman. Was the first character I rolled when the game came out but I've never really played one into the endgame.
I've been out of the loop for a couple months and I'm not up to speed on the state of the class. See a lot of people lavishing praise on elemental spec.. is there something "broken" with enhancement or is it just a victim of people being unhappy with Blizzard's attempts to balance the class?
A cursory glance says the shaman is better than he ever has been (like I said, I've been playing one off and on ever since you had to use talent points to use 2H weapons) so I'm wondering why people are so down on enhance spec. I've been having fun leveling with it, which I guess is all that really matters. But it'd be nice to have some perspective.

I have a Warlock and a Mage as well as an Enhancement Shaman, and the problem with caster DPS is always the same; how to kill that mob before it gets into your grill. Frost mages can freeze it far away, Warlocks use a pet or fear to keep the mob distant while the dots tick. Elemental Shamans have neither of those, nor do they have the raw firepower of Fire/Arcane mages. So the mob will usually get into your grill, forcing you to slug it out toe to toe at some point. Did the re-worked (again) Elemental talent tree for WOTLK finally fix this ? I don't know.
My Enhancement Shaman continues to kick arse, now well into Nothrend with no complaints yet.

Enhancement rapes things, at least as far as leveling goes, so I don't know what the people you're hearing from are crying about.

I wouldn't say anyone's crying, I just picked up a lot of advocacy for elemental spec. I don't see the draw myself, if I wanted to nuke I'd play a mage.
Enhancement is definitely fun for leveling, especially with a ret paladin partner, but I'm also curious how it's doing in pvp and raiding.
I respecced over to Enhance and with moderate gear I'm raping the shit out of anything that crosses my path. If you get two slow, good weapons, and even mediocre (I still have some caster pieces to replace on me) gear you can just tear things apart.
Yes, a shaman proccing windfury is one of the most entertaining things in the game. It's easily my favorite part of the whole class. It was a blast with a 2H axe, mobs would go from full health do dead instantly. Once they got dual wield the spikes smoothed out a lot, but you could still cut down mobs absurdly fast.
GF specced her paladin retribution to level up, and she'd never played a dps spec before. She was all excited how well she was killing, until I showed up to help her grind. She's all "what the hell I didn't even get a chance to hit that mob".

blizzard's classification horsecockery is maddening.
the way death coil couldnt be removed by will of the forsaken or death wish on my warrior would make me so mad

definitely one of those things i still facepalm myself over haha.
