In Oblivion lost, its a secondary weapon, which is fucking awesome. And like I said, they raided the Bar and I took them off the corpses, I didn't even run into last time around, so I don't know. I do know the barkeep sells the ammo for it after some point in the game has been reached, which helps a little, but you'd still be running low since its a unique ammo. Its the same reason I don't use the AK47 they added, because you have to buy it, it has unique ammo, and you can only put a scope on it.

Okay, I was feeling a little down and a little suicidal over my 3 pistol rounds and single grenade. I decided to head down to the railway track where those army guys wants rubels to let you pass. The leader died from a single shot to the face. I grabbed his rifle, an AK47 I think, and took out the others with the grenade and a couple of lucky shots. Now I have money, weapons, ammo, food, and a bottle of vodka. Yes, I feel pretty pleased about myself.
BTW, in OL, are enemies also subject to bleeding out from their injuries and do they heal themselves?
Edit: I found and downloaded the level editor, which unfortunately looked a bit more complex than I had hoped. All I wanted to do was create or edit an existing singleplayer map to have loads of zombies. I looked away from the screen for a second and the editor suddenly crashed to the desktop. I'm starting to understand why it took so long to finish Stalker.

I installed Stoll's modpack and gave the game a try. Good fun.
I do have a question though: when I start ZRP's configuration program (which I did to turn off the 3-day time limit), it seems like a lot of stuff is turned off. Should I be going through and figuring out what I want turned on?
What's always been freakiest for me was returning to Agroprom, seeing a huge firefight between about two dozen bandits, four military, and a handful of STALKERS inside the facility, shooting from the windows. The military and the bandits are eventually wiped out (with the help of yours truly of course), and I go around collecting ammo when there are no more red dots on the minimap. While I'm distracted, two bloodsuckers, coming from god knows where, go into the building and kill all five STALKERS. Then I decide to go congratulate my STALKER buddies and instead I climb a staircase to a room full of fresh corpses.
Just as I realize what did it, I get jumped by the two fiends and I'm trapped on the staircase and all the blood oh god jesus what the get me out of here

Man, I played Stalker for about half an hour on my new Vista PC (after video & bios updates, IIRC), later I installed a couple other games, patched it to 1.6, and added Stoll's mod compilation folder & .ini file. Now the game will not run at all. The executable either reports as having an error, runs in the background doing nothing, or loads to a blank screen.
It keeps doing this even after I uninstall it entirely and reinstall to 1.0. It's annoying because it was running perfectly at max settings, and several other games are still workign great (IL-2 Sturmovik doesn't load either, incidentally).
Anything to do with videocard or drivers maybe? Only time I've ever had issues with programs not running when I double-click is when I was running ATI Tray Tools. Some programs didn't like that. Probably thought it was a crack utility or something.
Nuke it and revert back to 1.5 .6 doesn't play well with mods, I hear the word is, and besides that it's pretty much a vanilla MP patch anyway so you won't be bothering with it anyway.
EDIT: And with no disrespect to Stolls, perhaps the problem is something in his pack messing with your specific setup. Give Oblivion Lost a whirl instead.

Thing is, vanilla does the same thing without mods or updates, I think I've tired to load 1.5 as well without results. Some error logger included in the Stalker folder keeps reporting the .exe as failing. I'll have to try deactivating Tray Tools, though it doesn't have a problem with Oblivion, Rome Total War, Sim City 4, Dawn of War and the like.
For now I'd just like to get the plain game working again and move up from there.
I've never heard of or seen sign of any P90, TMP, or MAC in OL. Are you sure you haven't thrown in another mod on top? Where'd you download it from?
OL doesn't include the prefetching tweak. However, instead of downloading anything, why don't you just add -noprefetch to the shortcut? Easy and no mods to fuss with or break inadvertently.
You know, one thing I hope that they do with the AI in Clear Skies is have people hanging out in different areas depending on the weather and the like - it's raining cats and dogs in my current game and the dudes who hang out near the Gordon/Garbage transition are all sitting in the grass outside, no matter that there's a nice, dry building in decent repair mere meters away.
It'd also be craploads of fun to watch people running helter skelter for cover when a blow-out is imminent and hiding in just about anything they can get into and panicking and duck-and-covering if they can't find anything/the current occupant won't let them in. Maybe even have fights over cover if they're out in the boonies and there's no law to put them down.
You know, I was thinkin': dudes you trade guns to that are better than the ones they currently have will use them from that point on, right? Does the same work with armor? In STALKER I've got loads and loads of extra cash to blow on stuff and it'd be nice for the poor bastards who get regularly assailed by bandits and the like to have better than leather and MP5s or Makerovs. That coupled with the fact that you can now take armor off of dead guys as shown by that video from a little while ago raises some interesting possabilities.
EDIT: Also, AI needs more corpse reaction. I got a "save the stalkers from the bandits" in the garbage and one of them near the fire got taken down and nobody's doing anything. At the very least they could drag the guy off to a corner or something, maybe even take him outside and bury him.
k I'll have to look. Also, what guns take .45 caliber ammo besides the Colt? I have like 500 rounds of it.

Dunno about OL, but in vanilla (+real weapon names), the Colt M1911, Sig Sauer, USP Compact, and Desert Eagle take .45. I think there might be one more I'm forgetting.

I noticed in OL that they drag corpses away from their hangouts. That's about it though.

I was out in the middle of nowhere when a blowout started. I had to blitz towards a collapsed tunnel to take shelter. Unfortunately it was home to a pack of dogs and on top of that a bunch of nearby bandits, mercs, and Stalkers had the same idea so there was a massive firefight during Armageddon.
Bah. I'm doing that mission up north for Skull where you have to whack the Freedom sniper and it keeps crashing when I go back and talk to him. Anyone else get that?
Ah, so I checked it out, and all these new weapons were added in to OL 2.1
I only have OL 2.0, so that's why they're nowhere to be found. Now comes the decision of whether to start over again to check out the new stuff (I'm pretty sure my current saves will be broken when I upgrade).
EDIT: Holy fuck I've only got 1.2. Why the fuck did I get such an early copy?

I found it amusing that the feature list for Clear Sky reads like the feature list for OL. Though I suppose the point of the OL mod was to make S.T.A.L.K.E.R more like what the Devs originally wanted.

A Shotgun Pistol is pretty neat. Especially if it's automatic.

It is the best thing ever.

Shit man where?
Also, the Saiga or whatever its called, the semi auto 8 round shotgun, it rapes mutant face in the labs.

I think I seen the MAC-10 on the floor in a house in the Army Warehouses. It was the farm house where you had to listen in on that Freedom snitch.

Duty sent a whole one dude up to the army warehouses after their assault completely failed without my help.
He had a P90, so I followed him through the freedom base until he died, and fuck yes it takes the green ammo.
And this is OL, by the way.

USP does, uh, I think the MAC-10 should, at least in real life it can use .45 or 9.xx something. Oh, also the Desert Eagle does as well.
