A message for everyone:
This is the thread that I plan on using so that myself, Poorochondriac, Dex Dynamo, Fierce Diety, Bendery and The Everyman can play a rousing game of d20 Modern (dungeons and dragons with less elves). I know the urge is great to post pictures of me crossdressing and to yell nerds at us, and that's cool. I'd prefer it if you didn't, but I know nothing that I say can stop you. Refrain if you can, if not, be a dick. See what I care.
A message for those who are actually interested in the game (this means the players:
Welcome to my game. The year is 2012, and shit has gone wrong. In November of last year a rogue terrorist cell infiltrated a government building in the Middle East and started a nuclear war. Missiles flew first to Europe, it being the closest, but soon weapons were flying to and fro like there was no tomorrow. And that came very close to being true. Almost all of Europe is dead, plagued by radiation and a horrifying plague to which there is no cure. Washington DC is but a crater, and both New and Old England are burnt to the ground. Nobody even knows what's happening in Japan, any transmissions cut out months ago. The world, essentially, is a big fucking mess, and there's nobody left alive to take charge and play the janitor.
But some people are still alive. You're one of these people. Congratulations, you survived the fabled apocalypse. Jesus didn't show up with a sword but there was quite a bit of war and pestilence, and famine has struck parts of the world quite hard, leading of course to a lot of death. Some claimed that is was the apocalypse, but I digress. You're alive, that's what is relevant right now. Currently all of you, through sheer luck or a deliberate flight, are somewhere in Nevada. You don't really know where, most of civilization is gone. Vegas might be around somewhere. On top of being in the middle of fucking nowhere, you're alone. Nobody else is around you, each one of you is a singular man out in the wilderness. And with this in mind, let us begin.
You're in the desert. It's hot. You're running out of food and water, and fortunately the sun is setting. Except, you don't have anyplace to go. You could die out here in the night just as easily as you could've all day. Your eyes scan the horizon for someplace to hide, to avoid the sandstorms and the wild beasts and the highwaymen. Vaguely, in the distance, you make out a form. Not a proper building by any means, a hut perhaps, or a yurt. But it's all you've got. What do you want to do about it?

Karkand is overrated.
Dragon Valley is superior.

Bob had been thinking about that book a lot since the world ended. He thought that it was the only thing keeping him from thinking about just how bad the situation actually was. Within the blink of an eye, humanity had gone back to the stone age and was poised to remain there for the forseeable future. Even a learned mind can snap, flip into the air and slam into the ground like an inexpertly made omelette under enough duress.
And Global Thermonuclear Apocalypse was a hell of a lot of duress.
Hmm? A building. Might as well go and check it out.
He started moving toward the building, not really expecting anything.
being a building i am hesitant to accept people inside of me right away
i lock my doors and turn the lights off
perhaps once he forces himself inside
i can light myself on fire

TOPIC: Please don't post in this thread.
"This thread is for me and Framling to talk to each other. Framling isn't even online right now, and we probably won't be online simultaneously for a while, but we still need to talk to each other, very slowly, even though there are a million better ways for us to communicate. Please don't post pictures of me dressed as a girl, as such a post would not constitute communication between me and Framling."

I think my stats show Karkand as my most played, but that's probably because before PA got their (second, which is now down) server they would hop on servers that were playing karkand all the time.
But ghost town is awesome if we're talking SF. Warlord is also really good.

So how many times have you and or the other players attempted to derail a respectable thread in SE because you could?
Be honest.
Hell I could direct this question at most any SE forumer.

it has to be free, and PowerPC mac compatible.
I look down in my bag to check my supplies, pull out my cane, and start my trek toward the unknown object.

P.S. Don't hate me Jordyn.
"Hello? Is anyone there?"
Bendery: As you near the tent you see someone else come from another direction and step inside it. They look armed, but not particularly hostile.
I hold out my hand, inviting him to shake it.
Pulling down my cap to ease the glare of the evening sun, I continue to trudge my way through the bastard landscape of rock and sand and more rock. Not even a goddamned cactus in sight. Except the tent or whatever it was shimmering in the distance ahead of me. After the warm reception I received in Baker, California, I’m not in any hurry to expose myself to anyone before I see them first.
So I take my time in approaching. I’ve got plenty of time before nightfall to make my way over.
Bob thinks for a while.
"Would you be interested in a book?"
I glance over to the ramshackle hut.
"This hut was enough of a promise to call the two of us to it. Maybe some others will show up in the next couple days, lets take a look inside and you can tell me all about your book."
"Hello. Welcome to what could be the last refuge of humanity. How are you?"
