Strips ahoy, cap'n. That half of the desk has defeated the cable management monster, but the part under the window appears to be succumbing to its tentacled doom. Nothing but :^::^::^: for the carpentry, though. Looks like you could support a house with that desk.

Also, bespectacled girlfriend with laptop is a nice addition.

Oh I hadn't noticed that, haha! First thing people notice in my setup is "Ok, so you spent $900 on your computer, which is all black and you still don't get yourself a black keyboard?"

Oddly enough, My Wii is, also, on top of my 360. My PlayStation 3 is at the nearby store because I don't have/want one.

Looking to redecorate my PC room. Friend made me an awesome all-wood lighted sign to mount on my wall, with carved wood letters saying "WARNING: GPIA" (my handle)

    Pretty awesome.

i forgot about this thread. heres my setup after i had to switch desks with the gf to give her more workspace for school. i didnt want to ditch my 2nd monitor and this was the only way i could think of to keep it. awkward at first but the way the chair leans back its really quite natural:

Please keep in mind than I just moved in a one bedroom appartment, so I had to get a minimalist ''desk''.

Gonna try to give this a shot, ive always struggled posting pictures, but this a good chance to learn and let everyone laugh at the disgrace that is my current workstation.
    Setup.jpg

The tragedy on the right is the PC im on at this moment, the black sticking up is the hard drive just lying on top of the case, the only way to currently start this thing is to plug in the Power SUpply and then "Jump" the motherboard to get it to turn on. Heh, building a new one, very soon.

    Edit: All fixed, thanks Improv.

The computer is indeed wired into the TV :D The monitor is for when other people want to watch tv, etc.

As for the rope light, only had it plugged in for show. Generally its plugged in for parties/at night when we don't feel like the normal lights.

Rope lights are cool. I had red rope lights in the bedroom for mood lighting. They're really good for providing light in places where you can't fit a lamp.

What kind of miniatures do you have guarding your DVD collection? Bloodbowl? Warhammer? War Machine? I must know!
And do you use that mic for podcasting?

Its generic WH40K space marines in my own custom colours (boltgun metal with gold outlining and highlights)
That microphone is for my music which i produce all on my own and can be downloaded from my website (see sig), can be used for podcasting but i prefer to use my headset on the wall for that mostly.

I notice a few people have mixers and instruments by their computers. What hardware and software are you using to record? I tried using Mixcraft, but I couldn't stand it, so I'm looking for something new.

Various stuff at the moment. I'm waiting for Propellerheads Record to come out. I used to use Sonar but after version 5 it got too bogged down in features. I'm using Reaper at the moment as it runs well with Reason in parralel. Adobe Audition is good too for just plain recorded stuff which i did alot of my sisters acoustic guitar stuff with.

Can't forget that most people move stuff over conveniently in front of the camera before taking any pictures. I can't count how many times I've seen a gun next to a bowl of spaghetti when someone says "POST WHAT YOU'RE EATING"

    Always a gun.

Someone made fun of it one day and took a picture of a bag of tortilla chips sitting on an assault rifle.
