Sadly they are not DVD's (which would be absolutely insane since there are 170 on that shelf D: ). They are just comic books. Its a special type of Donald Duck comic that is very popular here in Scandinavia and Northern Europe, but I couldn't find an american equivalent. But basically its just comic books with 256 pages each, and they cost $9.5.

Just chiming to say that these comics are indeed the shit, and are one of the things I regret not remembering to pack when I came to the States.

I would sell all those books and get a new desk. Having everything that cramped can't be comfortable at all.

We don't know what's on the other 2 walls of that room, to be fair. He could have a giant dinosaur that takes up so much space, he has no choice but to cram everything he owns onto one desk and one bookcase.

The ratio of non-compliance dinosaur in his room is to dinosaur who would have eaten him already is something like 2345665/1.

I love you guys. The other wall has the 'entertainment center'. It kinda looks like ass right now because its this old thing we got off craigslist. It should look good once it gets refinished though.

I rent a two bedroomed place. The second bedroom is tiny, we originally had a single bed in there for guests but it looked a bit of a mess so I decided to get rid, get a futon and turn it in to a get-away for me (Also the futon is comfortable for canoodling)

Futon with TV/Monitor on the Right. Also cheap surround sound system in place. Centre speaker stays hidden till I use it.

Tv/Monitor and picture of my hero
    3944994415_1ff05caf85.jpg

SNES/360 and games - Megadrive lives in a cupboard. I realise my 360 may explode being in there but it's been ok up to now

Collection of possibly more dubious plastic instruments
    3944994775_ceab913f79.jpg

What you can't see is that the wall in front of the futon is white. I put my projector on the little table in front of the futon and hook the 360/snes up to it for 6foot screen gaming fun. Also great for movies played through pc.

This is how it used to look with the bed:

    IMG_0174_2.jpg

The duvet cover is still used when guests come over :D

I have got a decent 42" Plasma and a good surround sound downstairs but it's nice to be able to retire to this room now and then.

Yeah, that's true. You wouldn't believe how many prickly situations I've been in. I've had to fast track it out of there with my tail between my legs. Still, when it comes to it there's always the 5 knuckleshuffle.
    Those were terrible. I'm sorry

Are you referring to the Jetfire/Skyfire transformer in the windowsill?

    Because that is pretty awesome.

I guess that's the tradeoff when you've spent your life being able to identify particular transformer toys at 20 meters.

Since I finally got around to cleaning up, I figured I'd brag a little about the absurdity of this corner of my room.

In a student/dorm room, it can be hard to find a real good gaming space. My room in first year had the PS3 in quite the tentative position. Last year went better because my desk was like two desks wide. This year, my landlady furnished my room with a crazy huge corner desk: and this is what I've done with the space.

My apologies for the light issues, I was using a bad cellphone camera.

My little but high-octane office in my loft. Had a 17-35mm f2.8 Nikon lens on loan so I snapped a couple of pictures before I had to return it.

The desk is an 80/20 project that I recently completed this spring. This is a big desk made from aluminum extrusions and furniture grade maple plywood. Each pedestal of the desk is a full 19" rackmount for Middle Atlantic shelves, drawers and accessories, in addition to an AC power Center and rackmount server case. The left pedestal houses an NHT 12-inch powered sub (the controller is in the top right drawer, and there are two Acurus home theater amplifiers for the surround system. One of the design constraints of the desk was that it had to accommodate the three Dell 2408WFP monitors and the NHT 1.5's that flanked them. This amount of real estate up top made for a very large keyboard tray with tons of mouse pad room, which was a huge upgrade from my old setup. All in all I think that it turned out pretty well. Mid-project I thought that it was going to be really heinous looking (esp because I was going to use a very dark grey/black flecked Corian for the desk surfaces, like a kitchen countertop), but since I decided to use the lighter wood, it turned out much better looking than I anticipated. The desk still weighs well over 500lbs with all of the equipment locked in.

I'm currently in the process of putting together a new desktop PC rig to run this. I'm trying to figure out if I want to try to squeeze a water cooling kit into the horizontal 4U server rack, or just grab one of the HP Blackbird cases. One of the new ATi cards that will run a triple head setup like this is a MUST however.
