Yay motorcycle! One catch, Europe only

I've got my eye on this bike here. The Honda CBF600S. The only problem is that I live in the US and the bike is only made in Europe. Check their American site and you won't find the model. So how to I get one in the states?

You may ask, "VeritasVR, why does it have to be this bike?"

Well, it just does, okay. It has to be a Honda. Also, full-fairing tends to be more expensive (plus I like the half-naked version). I'm open to used/older bikes of the same model. Apparently the bike is very popular in Europe where people don't spend a ton of money on the largest engine they can wrap their legs around. I believe Suzuki had a similar one, the SV650S in the states, but I really want the Honda. Funny enough, the 2008 Suzuki SV650S was discontinued here for the same reason. Now it has a full-fairing and a new name.

Anyone have any clues or experience with this sort of thing?

Honda did bring the 600F here as the 599, the last year being 2006. You should be able to find one in decent nick, though you don't get a half-fairing. The new SV650 looks like it uses the same 2-piece fairings as the old one, so you could buy one and take the lower piece off. Or just get a 2007 or earlier.

As for importing something not sold on this continent, anything is possible with enough money. It'll be a pain in the ass and more than it's worth, though.

I checked out our neighbors. Mexico doesn't have anything, but Canada has that bikes big brother. I'd recommend doing what Fats said though.

The Honda 599 seems really good.

I kinda want the sporty front and lower handle-bars, but it seems to have everything else I want. It's only my "second" bike anyways. It got great reviews and the naked look is nice. Still, rather have the CBF600S if someone knows about it here.

The model with the full fairing is the 2008 SV650SF. The one you linked is the 2006 model, so I'm pretty sure they don't make those anymore (or will stop in the near future).

They still sell the naked bike model, which is the SV650. I personally don't like the front of the bike, myself. The cowl on the SV650S was much more attractive.

You can import a euro bike, but it's not cheap or easy. First link I found:

Also - you can swap handlebars or get clip-ons for almost any bike you find so don't let that be a deal-breaker.
