I remember back in Soul Calibur 2 they had console specific characters. For Playstation 2 they had Heihachi, which was surprising since, in a weapons-based fighting game, he was the only character to use his fists. I don't suppose the 'Create a Soul' mode has a moveslist for someone who uses their fists? I don't mind weapons, just seems like it'd be neat if that was an option.

CASes only use preexisting characters' movesets in SC4, except for Algol and the Star Wars characters (The anime artist designed ones are also all clones, just with unique weapons (Man I wish I could use Shura's dual katanas on my CAS...)). The upside to this is you can change their fighting style at any time, and aren't limited to unchangable classes like you were in SC3.

I miss Greave Edge, too. :(

Ok, so I know that you can't use Guest characters for CaS fighters... Who else are the guest characters? Weapon wise? Am I outta luck if I want to use that one girl's Niten (2 sword) style?

    Question answered while typing.

So I wanted to edit Yoda, give him a monacle or something and I can't tell if you can't, or I just haven't unlocked stuff you can give him yet, cause there are a ton of slots to edit him.

I really want to give him black robes, white out his skin a bit and a red light saber. Darth Yoda FTW!!!!

And I wanted the Apprentice, so I went into Arcade as Yoda and beat the shit out of the first 6 guys. IS it just me or is the Apprentice the perfect Yoda foil? That man fucked me up for 5mins of fight time before I finally lucked out and beat his ass.

And BTW, Yoda's Critical Finish is bad fucking ass. That's how Doku should have died in the Pre-quels.

Sophitia of all characters kicked my Yoda's ass, and then I beat Apprentice and Algol after 2 tries each. I don't know why, probably that "Forgive me!" stab Sophie has.

I don't "get" Hilde apparently, I'm not very good with her. I like her anyway, though.
    Yunsung is fun as balls.
    I am terrible with Yoda.

Hilde Hilde Hilde. How can I make you better? I guess I have yet to have a charge move flow correctly other than knocking someone down with a throw and then holding the button and unleashing while they get up.

Raphael is still my best character it seems. Probably because he doesn't seem to have changed much from SC3, so I still know more or less how to use him.

I don't like Astaroth, but last night I played a bit with his moveset since I made (a very crappy) Hector from Fire Emblem.

I spent quite a bit of time with Hilde last night. I like her, though I'm just getting used to her moveset... It took me 10 minutes to beat The Apprentice in Arcade Mode :(

I also made Kain from Final Fantasy 4 and gave him Hilde's moveset. Because Kain is badass.

Had a blast for about an hour and a half...loved every minute of it.

Nightmare seems awesome this time around, although Voldo has had some combos changed which confused me for a bit.

The character editor is weird though. So like... can I only edit existing characters? Or can I make a dude with Ivy's whip-sword or whatever? Do I unlock more editor stuff in the Tower?

There's an option to create a character from scratch.

It's about halfway down, I think it's just to the left of the random box.

It's limited depending on the character. For example you can't edit Nightmare's lower layer chest slot but everything else is fine.

Edit: I can't remember if you can add a monocle to Lizardman. I do know that you can add masks but they appear on his forehead.

It's called online gaming :? People need to spend less time complaining on forums, and actually start reporting and muting the people acting like dicks. Believe it or not, if someone consistently gets reports about that type of stuff, they DO get the ban. But instead, people whine in forums, don't do the report, or even the mute thing, and the good people just hush up, and don't play in public, so things don't get any better.

I've had a lot of good experiences playing with randoms. You just have to take a few seconds and mute some people at times to improve your experience :P Sorry. Not meaning to rant. Just a pet peeve.

Bring up the blade, and to to the last players played with list (it's in the friends area) click on the person's gamertag, and you can mute and report them from there. Most games give you the ability to bring up a player's gamercard from the lobby as well. So just bring them up, and you're given the option. It takes a couple seconds, and it silences screamers, mouth breathers, etc without having to tune out everyone else.

So also I finished the story mode with Yoda this morning. He's surprisingly fun. I know most people who really love Soul Calibur find the Star Wars characters an abomination, but man if I don't really really want a good Jedi fighting game now. Even better if it included force push/pull/twirl mechanics that were more integral.

Finally got online for a few yesterday, and I was playing against people that had 100's of games played already. Needless to say I got smashed pretty good. Squeezed out 2 wins and made level 2. Ended up with a record of 2 - 14. I got my wins with Taki, who doesn't seem to have changed a whole lot form SC2, the last one I really played.

Style level effects what "level" skills you can equip to characters in character customization, and you get it just through fighting in non-practice modes with said character.

I've been on the fence concerning this game, but I think I may have to run out and get it now. (I was just given a $50 gift card for Futureshop) The character creator aspect just looks to good to pass up, and I loves me some Soul Calibur...just didn't know if it'd be worth it if I have the others. Eh to me in a few plays he had little that interested me and his mix up game seems average at best. Also I feel it's worth it to note that I absolutely DESPISE the Yoda Dooku fight scene in the movies and would prob. put that as the single worst scene in all 6 movies combined(While I like Yoda the scene ruins his Samurai like image).
