my dad would make me watch the red green show when i didn't want to go to bed. i usually ended up going to bed

I got him a DVD of it for this past Christmas. It actually surprised both he and my mom because he hadn't watched it in years.

My favorite character was the deaf indian guy that would walk in trailing a cloud of smoke, talk about blowing something up, and confusing what everyone else was telling him.

Oh man I did not know anybody else watched this show, much less liked it. I watched it all the time on PBS up in Alaska. Did not get it in florida at all, and then I tried catching it on PBS sometimes in Indiana but I would never be able to see it.

I enjoyed it quite a bit.

i saw this awful program with steve smith where he just took over the voice of one character in an old movie and made terrible jokes and commented on stuff.

    blech

red green was excellent though. it's awesome how every year it was always this close to being cancelled and it ends up lasting nearly fifteen years.

You have not seen The Red Green Show until you've seen a live taping. Between takes everyone is still completely in character on the set, and then Smith would come forwad and just talk to everybody. That was definitely the best/most hilarious part.

I'm trying to recall, are they actually new eps or just ones you folks in the states haven't seen? For some reason I thought the show had ended a little while ago hence why it's not Canadian stations that much anymore.

At first I wasn't too much into it but as I got older I started watching more and found the times where he'd be sitting there working on the fly in his little room hillarious.

Somebody mentioned how Steve stayed in character when he talked to the live audience. If you thought that was funny you should talk to one of the Trailer Park boys. I swear it's like they're in character 24/7.

the go look it up on wikipedia thing is the most annoying thing ever

yes someone could go look it up on wikipedia or someone could ask what it is in a thread devoted to it where perhaps someone who enjoys it could explain what it is and why they like it and perhaps some anecdote or quote

just because you could find it out elsewhere doesn't mean that is the only fucking valid way of finding it out

jesus since when is discussion a bad thing i mean come on

also thorpe it is a show about canadamen at a lodge and they have a fascination with duct tape and do wacky sort of things

you should watch some of it, it's probably on youtube

well, it's kind of sketch comedy

every actor sticks to a single character, and there's an overarching plot to each episode, but everything happens in short bursts, and the whole thing follows a general formula each time

I thought it was back in '06.

Yeah, TPB are pretty good. My best friend actually went to a theatre camp with Ricky. I remember back in '01 when they came to a place 1/2 an hour from where I lived and went to a club. Bubbles got so smashed.

I remember seeing those occasionally on sunday mornings.

"So, the's going to re-dub a single character from a terrible 50's sci fi movie? That sounds entertaining!"

    And then, disappointment.
