I haven't worn shoes for anything other than work in a while. Either sandals or barefoot.

I do have these in my closet, though

going barefoot disturbs me on an almost fundamental level.

how do you stop things from hurting your feet?

I went barefoot for 5 minutes at my house once and Anjin nearly severed my toe.

    You get used to it

I spend a lot of time barefoot, especially in the summer and outside and all

And yeah, sometimes I end up pulling broken glass out of my foot

But my feet are so calloused that even that is relatively easy and painless

well for one paying some attention to your surroundings becomes necessary

also my feet are giant freakish hairy hobbit feet with gnarled soles of gristle and leather so I can get away with it

There is a fun party game I like to play called hold a lit match to my foot

It takes quite some time before I even begin to feel pain

But anyways, there is a time and a place for going barefoot

I would not go barefoot at a party, because that's asking for it

Home alone? Hell yes I'm barefoot

Going outside in relatively untraveled areas? Barefoot again!

walking on the side of a major road? No probably not that is dumb.

Well, to be fair...Anjin was an idiot for breaking the glass.

You were not the idiot for stepping on it.

Funny thing is, this happened after everyone was asleep, and long after the glass was cleaned up. I had to go downstairs for something or other, so I got out of bed and came back up.

Woke up in the morning, noticed my foot hurt like hell, stepped down and "OWWWWWW FUUUUUUCK"

Didn't even know it happened when it did.

I had a small bit of glass under my skin for a while before it actually started to hurt and worked itself out.

And I stepped on a needle, but that was nothing. Barefoot is awesome.

I used to walk blocks in the summer without shoes. I figured it was a ten minute walk there and back, so whats the point of getting my shoes on for 20 minutes.

I'm running across driveways just to get to someones front yard.

I spend a fair amount of time in a basement, almost always barefoot

This combined with the fact that I'm kinda clumsy and always forgetting to bring my dirty glass up to the kitchen means that there is often a lot of broken glass on the floor

I clean up the big pieces, but you can't get everything too easily

So I pull a lot of glass out of my feet

Don't know, haven't found it yet

I'd like to get a place much, much closer to work. There are some nice condos around here for under just 300. Or I can lease again for well under 15 a month.
