No they're releasing it on the perfect date, one day after both my marketing courses have tests. This way I study as opposed to running around a surrealist landscape beating the shit out of people.

I don't think a lot of your classmates will be showing up that day
How much did I pay for this? Ten bucks? For about 4 hours of completely bat-shit insane original content that's somewhere in between Dali and Jim Henson?
That was quick, I was only gone for an hour and thirty minutes after starting the preload and it's already finished. Steam traffic must be really good this time of day.
Ideally, it shouldn't be as demanding as Episode 2, but since it's an indie game, it's hard to guess as to how good they are at optimizing the engine with their own assets.
So... maybe?

I suspected as much, but the developers claimed machines that could run Episode 2 (which I could mostly smoothly, at near-minimum settings) should be up to the task.
What, for the game? It will release in about 5 hours...
Really?
I assumed with the pre-load it would be available right away.
Yes, right away when the game releases, but it still needs to release first. It will release 11:00 Chilean time, which is about 4 hours away now (I think Chile is the same time zone as California?).
Well I'm smart... I totally forgot to hit pre-load before just now... I am currently at 1%, going at 300KB/s... I hope I will make it in time for actual release time

Chile is the same time zone as me. East Coast. But they don't have daylight savings time so it might be an hour off. Either way it releases in 3 hours.
edit: Actually Chile has daylight savings time, but it's just on different dates. My bad.
edit 2: Whoa, I'm completely wrong about everything! Chile is in the same time zone as the maritime provinces in Canada. Forget I said anything! It releases in 3 hours!

Apparently the game is only about 4 hours but awesome nonetheless.
Ya, I think 4 hours sounds about right.
I have it preordered from Direct2Drive, and they will give me a serial to put into Steam when it releases, but I can't seem to preload it yet.
No, you can't do that.
Another digital distribution system giving you a key for entering in Steam sounds crazy, but I see on it's page on D2D that it mentions Steam. Crazy.
I was about to ask why you wouldn't just buy it on Steam to begin with, but I see the UK price is slightly lower on D2D.
Best deal in entertainment.
It was (not any more) on 50% off at D2D. So it was £6.50
Still though, thoroughly excited.
ALSO: Apparently you have unlimited Ammo but enemies can disarm you. I find this fascinating.
I'm still looking forward to shooting exploding squirrels. Those little rat bastards deserve it.
(no squirrels were harmed in the making of this post)
What are my chances this will be playable?
Ehhh... Could you run Left 4 dead? That sounds like the bar that you need to pass.
Also, Time for an upgrade, because- seriously? a mid-low range machine should be able to do this, easily.
So... maybe?
Post specs. Thats the only way we can tell for certain.
Athlon XP 2000
1 GB Ram
Radeon 9550
I really really really really doubt it.
I wont get to play this until late tonight...

I hear the world is a big place.
I really need a good dose of bat shit crazy.
They also get to be a Shotgun Sunrise beta tester!
If you give me your SteamID I'll be happy to gift it to you (gift as in give, as Shotgun Sunrise is awesome enough that I feel like you deserve it).
