Voice acting is indeed a little ehhh, but the combat is fantastic. Doing the Malstrums Mansion combination gets you an achievement: Monocrome Adventurer.
Played a little, and man the combat is tons of fun. I'm trying to space this out so I don't finish it in one sitting, so I'll go back to it later today. But the first impression is definitely good.

Looks like I was able to (sort of) easily repair my radiator. I should go out and see about my apartment insurance but its not critical.
Erm, anyone know how to defeat that pig-boss, i just got wiped by him 3 times. He just seems to take no damage...
You've probably done this already, but just in case:
You need the bone club to damage him. Mouse1 is a quick swipe, Mouse2 is a charge attack. He has a long reach so stay back, charge up and smack him. After one or two hits he grabs his head, charge your club until it automatically swings, which should do a good amount of damage
I like the combat, and it's by far the best looking game I've seen on the Source Engine. One question: Can you save? I just quit when I was finished.
It looks like an autosave system. When you stop it creates a nice checkpoint for you. It might of been because of a cutscene so it might become an issue later if I feel I want to go back.
So far, I like it. The combat is very fluid. It feels like a super crazy dream with wild creatures and designs(Drugs are bad k?). The art direction is fantastic.
Voice acting? I've heard much worse. I'm not expecting much from an indie game so its satisfactory. It looks like a well spent 25$ (one for me, one for a friend)
I don't regret this at all. It just sucks I have to head off to work now.
So I pre ordered this, and was sure I could run it. My computer can run episode 2 at medium to high settings, but this isint working. I get past the "Ace" videe/intro thing, and then the game goes to the loading screen. The background is blurry, and the loading/waiting icon is at the bottom right. The first time I let it go for about 5 minutes, the second time at least 10. When I preloaded it yesterday, I had to stop it a few times and restart it later on, so im going to reinstall it tonight without stoping it and hope that fixes it.
I decided to take a break after Metamoq finishes his "teachings", just so I can savor the game experience for more than a day.
First of all, let me get the visuals out of the way. It's definitely one of the if not the best looking Source games I've played to this day. If you liked the screenshots, I'll tell you right now that it's even better in motion.
The combat system... I'm in love with it already. Some might say it's a bit clunky, but I dare say that the initial awkwardness is a design choice, aimed at mimicking real-life brawling. The controls feel very responsive and the animations are extremely fluid. After the first few fights, everything just clicked splendidly for me.
The fish guns and the skull crossbow felt a bit overpowered during the Helim flashback... with careful reloading and sprinting, I managed to never get hit until I went into melee near the end. The same strategy might be way harder to pull off versus multiple targets or in a cramped area.
As for the voice acting, it's definitely flat, but not bad... just a little underwhelming. This game deserved A Class talent. (Metamoq is an exception. Guy's just awesome.) Pity really, because that's about the only thing I can think of so far that could've been polished more.
Last but not least, the storyline is engaging, but very sparse. I hope that when all the pieces fall into place, it'll feel a little more grandiose.

Freezes with a black screen for me after the Ace Team logo.
Going to try a re-install.
Yeah, I tried it quickly. From what I've seen, I don't really mind the voice acting at all, I was actually expecting worse. I also really like the visuals, and although I suck at the combat, it's great fun. The way the story kind of jumps around really reminds me of the usual progression of a dream, and combined with the visuals and the story it really reinforces this feeling. I'm really liking this game so far, and I definitely see myself playing through it several times. The combat alone is damn great.
Metamoq is the man. Like, seriously.
He rips heads off birds and throws the thrashing bodies for you to shoot before they die as ranged combat training.
Avira keeps telling me that ZenoClash.exe is a trojan (which I'm reasonably sure its not). I wonder if this relates to people having trouble running the game.

Avira probably saw the screenshots and freaked out.
No problem with Avast.
Mother-Father is dead at the very beginning? I guess that means you'll only be seeing he/she in flash-backs. Huh, kinda interesting starting a game with a small twist like that.
To anyone who's having trouble running the game: add the -dxlevel 81 parameter to the game's shortcut , customize your video options and then remove that parameter. ;-)
Can't wait for someone to mod-in some better punch sounds, I don't like the cartoony FX they used for them!
The game is great... I'm sure someone will also make new voiceovers, which aren't that bad anyways. I tried the extreme difficulty and it's really hard, but that's because I'm so bad at this game still.

EDIT: and Remington wins.
S'fair I suppose, you (LaCabra) already got Paypal'd some money.
Zeno Clash is decrypting, and I have to go to work
Yep, I'm in the same boat pretty much. have to be to work in 2 and 1/2 hours and I have a leaking radiator in my vehicle-- fun..
I want reports!
this is so confusing, yet it is quite well done
whoops
just threw myself off a ledge
welp, off to work
Anyway, I'm off to play some more.
Not far into the game, but good so far.
Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Yeah, can't unsee that now. Thanks
Also, I preloaded this onto my laptop, and then left it at work. Doh!
That's my first impressions.
I feel like i stepped into a really bad trip.
Here is a crazy bloody scientist that will be in Shotgun Sunrise in his honor:
You've probably done this already, but just in case:

I'll have to play more in the days to come.

Anyone have issues with achievements not activating?
EDIT: The brawling is sooo hard when you are fighting 7 guys and half of them have guns.
The narrative is a little broken and it's kinda all over the place in terms of everything else, but it was a lot of fun, and the combat is incredible.
