God. That was so annoying. I went into one of those missions with a friend, and he never put his pets on passive. So they'd blow up the cars right on top of my guys, and they'd nearly die. Basically I put everyone on passive, find a guy I hate... Send them to him, then put them on passive when the fight was done.
So after seeing the new things they added in the last issue I decided to start a quick trial account to try out shields.
Well let's just say I reactivated my account, good thing it is winter break. :P I'm afraid of actually making a sword/shield scrapper, even though they are fun, I've been seeing a lot of low level toons in atlas park using them.
I think the look of my Martial Arts/Shield is working out pretty well. The landing pose after the roundhouse kick looks even cooler with a shield on. Lemme see about screens...
MA/Shield is what I tried out in the closed beta. It looks pretty damn good.
Also, just scored a couple of Auto Assault time cards for $5 a pop. That gets me four months ($60) of CoH game time for $10. I may go back and grab the other two as well.

NCsoft game cards aren't game specific (or weren't at the time of AA, not sure how they sit currently). So, if you can find cheap game cards for dead games you can use them for the living games for the same amount of time.

All of the sudden, the game won't patch. It keeps bitching about me not having the proper permissions.
Nothing has changed; I've been playing and patching on this system since I reinstalled back in August. Now all of the sudden it won't. Blah. I don't even want to play; I just want to log in so I can get all my freespecs.
So are shields not-shit now or are they still as bad as they sounded back during testing? I'm probably not resubbing until i14, but this will determine if it's worth it to even log and check things out.
They gave shields a pretty solid buff, but they're still designed as a more "teamy" powerset, so if you run around soloing everything it might feel a bit eh.
So, I trialed this thing over a year ago. I'm sure you can't do this, but *just in case*, I was wondering if anyone knew if you could enter another trial code for an additional 15 days (so I can try out the new stuff). Money is ridiculously tight in the XP household at the moment and the $20 for the game would literally break the budget, but I've been meaning to give CoX a real shot for some time now.

You can't enter it on the same account but you could create a new trial account I believe.
So I was thinking about maybe resubscribing and checking out the new stuff and maybe, for the first time ever, max out a character on an MMO, and see there is some sort of free activation weekend.
