    Holy crap, ideas. <3

I have no idea how to interpret what these are supposed to be, though. What do they mean by survey? What are these in relation to actual content being worked on?

Provided there isn't any unique IO enhancement in kinetic crash you'd receive the set bonuses from all of the powers you've slotted up to a maximum of 5 times. You can't have the bonuses from any given set more than 5 times. IO's within a set that are flagged as "unique" can only be slotted once in a character build.

You can get up to 5 of a particular bonus. Say you slot 3 red fortune sets and two doctored wounds sets for a total of five 5% global recharge, any other 5% global recharge from other sets wouldn't work.

Wow, I hope that stuff is put in. I know most of the big stuff is just a wish list not stuff in development but still, I would think at least the mission creator stuff would be set since they are actually developing that now.

Not so sure if I would want mission stuff to be unlocked by player ratings though. Seems like there would be a better way to handle that.

I'll be excited when I see any of that on a live server. The dev team, whether it was Cryptic or NCSoft has always talked a great game and had big plans. Their ability to deliver on those plans has generally been much smaller than their ability to talk about them.

That's a lot of interesting ideas from Narbus's post. I doubt that they'd be implemented in a standard issue (or even across multiple issues) though.
Power customization alone was said to require an entirely new game engine. Unless they've found some way around that (which given BAB's posts on the subject seems unlikely) that enhancment alone would be too time consuming to put in.

It seems more likely that those additions would be added in a new paid-for expansion, like CoV was.
And damned if I wouldn't drop another 60 bucks on it.

I'm curious Pony, what makes you say it's a photoshop? It looks pretty similar to the existing style in the game for character creation...

Well crap. I went out and bought myself a quad-core with a Nvidia 280... Only to find out CoH hates both of them and my Vista 64. I now crash like I'm on a 386 with an old ATi rage.. D:

    Hopefully they'll fix this, soon!

Quad-cores are terrible for PC gaming. No one develops for them.

Nvidia are really good for CoX and I run Vista 64 with no problems. Well...I have had CoX crash on me but I can't say for certain if it happens more now that I have 64 or not, and I've never played it on 32bit Vista.

My point is the Quad-core is probably what is causing all of the issues. Hunt around the tech support forum on Cityofheroes.com to see if there is anything that can fix it. Might be as simple as introducing a string into the execution command for the program to make it think you are only using a dual-core processor.

I can actually remember the idea of "City of Spies" being bandied about back when CoV launched. That, somehow, you'd be a "villain" but actually a hero trying to undermine them. Of course, for this to work at all anything ever that you do would have to actually impact the game world. So i always assumed they never went through with it because it didn't fit the game at all.

Don't expect the nVidia support to get any better than it is right now. It hasn't in 4 years, doubt it will in the near future. Shouldn't be the lead cause of crashing, though, just the lead cause of "lawl, lower framerates and broken pixel shaders".

Well, seems Microsofts were good enough to have a beta hotfix for the issue. Will have to try it out after work.

Switched over to Nvidia based graphics cards after City of Heroes hardcrashed repeatadly on my old x800 card and found myself bounced back between "It's an ATi issue, take it up with them" and "City of what now?". All in all upgrading my computes and finding compability issues seems pretty par for the course.

Hmm, I finally hit 30 on Red Arbalest, my 1930s Pulp Archery/Devices blaster, I had always intended to give him a more "modern" outfit to contrast with his usual pulp outfits, except I've found that I can't think of any good ideas.

This is the working prototype I've got going

    ModernArbalest.pngModernArbalest2.png

It looks ok, but I'm not entirely satisfied with it, and uncertain on which color set to go with. Anyone have any opinions or idea/suggestions for alterations/completely different design? (I also just noticed I forgot the shoulderpads on the purple version)

Just in case someone doesn't know/remember here are his two normal outfits

TB, I'd change the top and bottom to match. Either make both of them Armored Pad or both of them Stealth. I'd also change the darker parts from the myrtle green or eggplant purple to just pure black, and possibly darken the red scarf a bit as well.

Nitpicks: Making the belt buckle the same silvery color of the bandoleer clasps and changing the leather shoulder pads' clasps to match the darker parts of the costume could add more consistency. (Be them myrtle green, eggplant purple or black.)

Still, it's pretty good considering how little planning there was. 'Hey! Let's stand on this wall!' 'No, let's float near it!' 'Haha, spot the non-super in the group.' Priceless!

I remember an SG that I was in waaaay, way back when, did a Top Trumps style avatar thing - you'd get a screenshot of your character that you liked, then there was a standard template it was plugged into, that had your name, origin, archetype, security level, and powersets listed in the text box at the bottom. Was pretty neat. We should probably do something similar for the PA SGs.

We should have faced the other way, so the light would be in our faces, rather than behind us, drowning the characters out. The background would have been crummy though; good screenies need planning.

You know, I would really like "Golden Age" and "Silver Age" defined in terms of costume. I hear this one a lot, and hear about SGs being made with a Golden/Silver Age feel, and while I understand the history of comic books, I've yet to really get a description I was satisfied with. The Wikipedia doesn't really work for me, as it just gives me some names. I guess I understand the bi-tone spandex aspect of it... is that all there is to it?

As far as I was aware, if you looked like you were straight out of a 50s comic book (The Shadow, Oldschool Flash, basically 50s formalwear with a mask or spandex with masks) then you were sorta Golden Age looking. A friend of mine had a great one - all royal blue and white spandex with a full face mask, and details on the head (think Flash-type flashes, or wings).

GalagaGalaxian's outfits for Red Arbalest with the hat are very good examples of the more formalwear outfits.

Okay- I've been back on for over a week now, and along with some existing costume tweaking, great teaming, and experiencing new content, I rolled a new Psi/Mental Blaster. I'm in love with this guy. Yes, he's a trenchcoat/fedora mystery man- with MIND BULLETS- and fashionable flight goggles.

Guys, I can't tell you how much I missed this game. Macabri looks jealously over my shoulder until we can get XP installed on her MacBook. She's seriously jonesing for some superhero/villian action.
