Actually it costs LESS now and whoever I have to thank for that is a genius. Now one round of Enchant Dead/Dark Empowerment buffs ALL my zombies at once! No more tedious slowing the group down whenver we go somewhere or after a wipe!

Awesome, i can't access my SG Base due to back rent but when i go to the Registrar he says i'm paid up.

Why is it rent is determined by the # of items you have now? Oh you've got a 30 room mansion but you only have a bookcase, a futon, and a tv up on cinderblocks and plywood in it? Ok that'll be 100 dollars in rent.

It's an improvement to everyone who was already paying rent, and even the people who were on free plots should be able to easily afford it. A simple base requires like, 2 missions worth of prestige every 6 weeks.

Yeah i don't have any problem paying rent aside from the fact the game won't actually let me do it, i mean we've got plenty of prestige. I just think being charged rent on the amount of furnishings is an absurd system even if it is a fairer one.

Rent is only on certain items, like turrents and storage. So if you wanna just have a pretty pretty base it doesn't cost anything. A safe base is a bit. But still it's like 100 prestige per item. So not much.

Yes, I understand what rent is charged on, i don't care about having to spend the prestige, my problems are twofold:

    1. The game says i owe rent but when i go to pay it the registrar says i'm all paid up and i still cannot access my base. Glitched game is glitched.

    2. On what planet is the monthly rent of your home being based on the items you put in it rational or logical? I know it's better than the old rent system i just wish it made sense is all.

Bleh, should probably just go to bed, too much discussion on what was supposed to be a glib remark.

I had the same problem with paying my rent. I came back when i8 launched. I had been away since a bit after i5. I transferred leadership to the SG onto a character on a new account. It took a while for the problem to go away. I don't know what caused it though. It was the exact same situation. Base rent is due. Go to pay it and the guy says I don't owe. I emailed support and asked people in game if they knew what the deal was. Nothing turned up. A while later it just started to act normally. It was a strange thing.

On the subject of Power Rangers, there is an episode of... one of the newer Power Ranger series, don't remember which one, but they have a space ship. Anywya, it has the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in it, and all I have to say is; My god, I can't believe I watched the whole thing. Two things of my childhood I loved meshed together in 24 minutes of god awefulness.

Back to CoX, is it possible at all to make something ninja turle-esque in the game? With dual blades you could do Raph or Leo, but I don't think it's possible to do anything like nun-chucks or a bo staff yet. Also, the shell, can you make anything shell-ish?

I'm patching, with the intention of parking my characters for their day jobs, but let me be honest. The changes to de-toggling not helping my my Rad Defender in any way, coupled with Defenders actually being made deliberately weaker in PvP (oh, because we were sooooo great before) has left me cold. I won't be playing this patch much if at all. Blizzard hasn't always been nice to my rogue, but at least they don't shit in my mouth with every succeeding patch.

well just play not a defender

I have a blaster and a tank I enjoy but it's the principle of the thing. I can't understand how the game developers could just not care about one of the (few) archtypes in the game at all. Especially when they started out so promising (Hey kids, a buffing/healing class that isn't locked in a team role and is fun to play in it's own right!).

And now years later we are told that Defenders "shine in a team role" (translation: cannot solo) and that our powers are "a huge advantage for our teams" (translation: all non-group oriented powers nerfed into uselessness).

And don't tell me this is the way things had to be, because they have done the exact opposite with Controllers.

True that, but long before the community fought any buffs for them the developers, entirely on their own accord, decided to make Defenders more helpless than any "healer" class in any fantasy MMO I can think of.

I mean, my holy/discipline priest in WoW could stomp the living shit out of any Defender and that's sad. They're supposed to be super heroes.

The problem with Defenders is that there isn't a loud enough community of Defenders who are actually saying "Listen, we suck, and here is the hard numbers to back up why"

Castle responds well to hard numbers and datamining. The problem is, there hasn't been enough people doing that and the few people who try get shouted down by the "Repeat Offender" psychopaths who actually don't want Defenders to be looked at by the devs because they believe they are somehow awesome.

Defenders on their own are pretty lame. I think a team of 4-5 Defenders is pretty awesome, but y'know? A team of 4-5 ANYTHING is pretty awesome. Plus, the Repeat Offender teams are carried by the Controllers that they let in.

I love my Storm/Dark Defender, but I'd love a damage buff or SOMETHING on her. I play her like a Controller though, so it's not too bad. She can pile up a bunch of dudes and wear them down with Freezing Rain/Tentacles/Night Fall, keeping them there with Hurricane, Tentacles, Gale and Torrent. YES I TOOK GALE AND TORRENT. See, given that the damage is less than stunning, I have to get my jollies other ways. Causing complete chaos is one of them.

Multi-Defender teams are probably the most ridiculous of the single-AT teams though, (Er, not counting villain-side.) because with enough diversity, they all become Tanker/Blasters. Still, that's a very specific situation that rarely happens.

People also under-value Defenders I think. A lot of people trash Empathy as healers in a game that doesn't require healing, which I can understand yes, but Fortitude is a fucking godsend in shit like the Posi TF.

And to buff Defenders, they need to get a bit creative. Buffing their defending abilities won't really do much, since a lot of teams run at max or near-max difficulties anyways, and buffing their damage abilities might tread on Blasters a bit. Still, there've been good suggestions, and even the not-so-good suggestions are probably better than the current situation.
