    No. The long powerups were because they tried to adapt each chapter of the manga into exactly one episode of the series.

    I don't think anyone has said brilliant in this thread. The show is funny, but it's not a work of genius. Just a couple goofy guys who look funny in short shorts.

    For clarity Invader Zim ruined an entire generation of kids in the same way Tim and Eric are ruining an entire generation of young adults.

    Which actually if you think about it are the same kids so it might be self-contained but probably not.

    Adult Swim may have some terrible, terrible shows, but they still show amazing shit like Venture Bros, Home Movies, and Harvey Birdman.
