I like shots like this for reasons I can't begin to explain; however, I think you need a more interesting pen. I also think it should be purplish color to get the most contrast.

I like the pseudo-abstract quality. Nicely done, shake.

I shot the theater department's performance (okay, it was actually a photoshoot instead of a real performance) of Philoctetes. Here's a little preview.
The B&W reminds me of a scene from ET or something, like it's all spooky at night and something bright is out in the distance.
But I am liking the color one too.
Sorry I don't think I'm going to be any help here. My favorite part of the shot is the satellite dish. It's almost hidden behind all that fog and that is pretty rad.
Sheri: A w e s o m e.
What can you share about the story? The person coming out of the darkness is a really awesome effect and makes the picture a lot more exciting. I don't know how to describe it.
I also prefer the B&W to the color version of the same photo.
Pope, I have to say that normally I like your B&W photos better, but in this case the color one caught my eye. I like the sunlight diffused by the fog. Of course I'm biased to the Austin area anyhow.
BTW they are forcasting snow at my next jobsite.
EDIT: and by sunlight I of course mean the security lighting if this was taken at night.

Story of the show? Takes place between the Odyssey and the Iliad. Philoctetes was stranded on an island by Odysseus, who returns years later to try to get some sacred bow that is necessary to defeat the Trojans. At least. . . that's a quick summary of it.
I like the first one better. The bottom one, though cool, seems less interesting. Perhaps I have an unconscious knife fixation manifesting itself, who knows.
On the second one, the scratches on the thing you're pouring water over don't turn me on. Take that as you will; I found them distracting. I like the presence of the drain in the first one. This seems to provide a nice path for your eyes to follow . . . down the water stream, over the knife, and down the drain. The second one doesn't have that.
Just as a why-don't-you-try-this comment, perhaps you could have someone shut the water off while you're shooting and try to catch the water still falling, but not connected to anything that's out of the frame.
I also prefer the first one, I like the way the water forms a circle-ish shape on the bottom of the sink next next to the drain, and the knife adds a nice line to counteract the water's line.
The second one is still nice though. Again, nice clean line from the water that continues w/ the reflection, then the rest of the picture is made interesting by the circle of smooth texture and the bubbliness on the outside.
Thanks for the love Staleghoti, Ink, Virum, GIS, ND, Shake, Tini and love the lighting in the second one Sheri.
I was given a task to shoot something different, I need to continue down this path I guess but I am just a sucker for landscapes though I know everyone has seen hundreds and hundreds before. And Ink I was going to make it more dynamic but got lazy although I have been trying more high-speed sync stuff so I'll show you ze results.
And god willing I should be going to start a 3 year photographic arts degree in September so that should be pretty awesometastic :^:

Ah laziness . . . I can understand laziness. I sit here typing, not on the paper due in about five hours, but the forum which has no bearing on my collegiate climax. In any case, I look forward to your results.

Go buy me some purple pens, and make sure they're interesting. :P
This was for a contest round with the theme dissonance.
Thanks, Sheri.

That would make a bitching wallpaper.
I'm going to slink away now.
I would happily lend you one of my purple pens, but I fear we would be geographically challenged in that respect.

Much love
Yeah, I kinda prefer the greener cast in that bottom one for some reason.
Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.

Wallpaper size? 1600x1200
Thar ye go.
Thanks for the comments you lovely people.

I prefer the second shot. By leaps and bounds and stuff. I love the outer ripples.

Great stuff mang.
Well... since we're making requests can I get a 1280x1024 version of the second one?

Here's your desk:
Speaking of which, here are some stills from my short that I filmed on the Sept. 29, 30, and Oct. 1st.

That sounds excellent! Good luck. I have no doubt you'll get in...where are you planning on going?
