What movie is this?

Ok, so Im guessing this is a classic movie because I see it referenced / parodied so much.

Anyway, theres a guy with a broken leg and he looks through a telescope and thinks he sees someone murder someone. And going on all the parodies he gets someone to go look around and see if they can find info. Seems like it might be a Hitchcock but when I don't know the name it would be hard to find, also its kinda hard to google for a movie when you don't know the actors or anything.

So yeah, any ideas?

    Rear Window?

Haven't seen it myself, but it fits the description.

Did you just watch Home Movies?

I think it was parodying Hitchcock's Rear Window, though I haven't seen it.

Yes, that would be Rear Window. There have been a number of remakes/variants on the theme. The original starred James Stewart as the guy with the broken leg and Grace Kelly as his girlfriend. Christopher Reeve did a remake when he was in the wheelchair, and Disturbia isn't quite a remake but it's got a derivative premise.

If you are into Hitchcock at all, see this movie. It's actually pretty good. Jimmy Stewart is great in it.
