I actually feel so bad for people who have wasted money on Final Crisis that I can't bring myself to point and laugh. If you guys need to talk or vent or whatever let me know.

Giant camel toe? If so, does it matter compared to the rest of the shit on the page?

Eh, I think the Superman Beyond one-shot and the Lo3W will be great, and Rogue's Revenge #1 was good. The event isn't a total wash.
Pull the plugs is a little silly but I also kind of buy that it would be within the power of Oracle, Mr. Terrific, and the Justice League to do such things. Also it was two panels so not really getting the pants shitting. Especially since it seems like a lot of people here haven't even read the comic.

i can just barely buy the concept that the oracle (who spends her life online, after all) might have some sort of...thing set up for this sort of eventuality, but it really would require the internet to work very differently in the dcu than in real life
But Mary Marvel's whole gimmick is that she's the personification of sweetness and light, and this feels like a betrayal of that fundamental characterization.
Dude, that's probably because she's being possessed by an evil god. How is that possibly a "betrayal" of that characterization? It's not her!
OK well in non-FC news
I read the Twelve and it had possibly the most depressing ending ever
One hero's old sidekick tracks him down. It seems that the chemical that gave them their powers has worn off of him, so he's back to being human
And he has cancer, and his only hope of surviving is to get another dose of the chemical
Since the hero doesn't know how to make it, he's fucked
So he puts on his old cape and goes flying for about 2 feet and then plummets into the ground
Dude, that's probably because she's being possessed by an evil god. How is that possibly a "betrayal" of that characterization? It's not her!
If Batman murdered someone while under mind control, wearing only a ballgag, his Bat-mask, and a cocksock, would that bother you?
Mind control or not, the character has blood on its figurative hands, which will no doubt act as an albatross for them in the coming months, heaping a bunch of angst and bullshit on top of the characterization I enjoyed. Lately DC likes to have their characters as tormented and tortured as possible to add gravitas and pathos to their stories; even if Mary Marvel's current characterization is undone, and she's not killed off before the end of the event, I foresee a lot of handwringing and, "Oh God what have I doooooonnneee?" in her future.
Hey, sign me up for "awesome stuff that came out months ago"; Runaways 8. Loved it, but will wait for it to come out in mini (digest?) form rather than buying the HC and having it stand out amidst the collection.
And thanks for reminding me that I still need to hit up my neighbors for some Brit.

Is this a trick question? No, of course it wouldn't. Why would, say, the Mad Hatter controlling Batman reflect badly on Batman? Villains mindcontrolling heroes into doing bad things has been a staple of comics for like forty years, so no, it doesn't bother me.

So you're holding FC responsible for something that some unknown DC writer might do in the future?
Zebra Batman has the excuse of being a wacky Silver Age story
You can do anything you want in those
Now if there was an old story called like, oh, I don't know
Batman's Bondage Buddies or something
Maybe I'd tolerate the Mary Marvel suit a little more
I'm not even going to pretend to know what the fuck
But it's not hideous
Just weird as hell
My point is, there are other ways they could have gone with her evil costume that would have worked just fine for letting us know she's a bad girl
Weird pink ponytails and the rest of her head is shaved and she's wearing what looks like a dominatrix outfit?
Not the way I would have gone with it
Or at least, not to that degree

jeez its right there in the dialouge

Don't tell me you like that suit
I feel like Wonder Woman should be telling Mary how naughty she's been and this is taking a turn into pornville
But goddammit
Between that suit and PULL THE PLUGS

It doesn't matter though, no plugs were pulled
About the only thing in FC#3 I liked was
What the hell was up with the "draft" anyway. Couldn't they have just said "Hey, we need help from all available superheroes"?

The Villains United Special already did the whole superhero draft thing anyhow. And that one had a larger and more interesting turnout.

A plot point makes a hideous costume less hideous
Really
She was in a night gown thing the entire issue.
yes, somehow by the grace of God I've been able to push past the fact that the evil chick is wearing an evil chick costume.
You can do anything you want in those
Now if there was an old story called like, oh, I don't know
Batman's Bondage Buddies or something

You can make an evil chick costume that isn't completely fucking retarded
Especially the hair
My god the hair
and somehow it didn't mortally wound me to my very soul.
