Fuck you I've been a hideous DC fanboy for years and even I can't figure out what's going on here. This story sucks and you know it.
hey i'm just raggin' you a little man, it's cool. but no, i don't think the story sucks. it's definitely not all being laid out in front of us, but that doesn't mean it won't be. honestly, and i'm not trying to be sarcastic here or anything, i don't know why everyone who has these problems with it doesn't just stop buying it for a bit to see how it shapes up. wait for the trade, even.

I'm just frustrated that there is SO MUCH weird being packed in here, all at once. I'd rather they did a longer (maybe weekly? they seem to love that these days) book that explained what was going on a bit more. I'm going to have to buy a million tie-in books to figure it all out and I hate when that happens.
At least for Secret Invasion I can get by with just the main book and the two Avengers titles.

also- moment of the week is the frenchman with hulk's ballsack in his hand.
it looks like a hairy green grocery bag with two basketballs in it
wut?
in the comic book legal defense fund thing that came out this week there's a bunch of little stories by prominent creators. they're all about freedom of speech in various ways. the first one is a "the boys" story by ennis and robertson. the thing is wee hughie is trying to get you to donate to the cbldf by threatening to "pay a visit" all your favorite supes, but his overenthusiastic teammates tend to get started before the threat is actually read out loud. wonder woman has her face torn off by the female of the species, wolverine is almost burned alive by mother's milk, and the frenchman cuts off the hulk's balls.
Final Crisis was OK, but the story seems really cliche to me so far. Band of Villains eliminates super heroes one by one in a bid for power. Yeah. Its been done before.
i highly recommend it. there's a little criminal story by brubaker and phillips, j bone does a couple pages, there's a neat darwyn cooke one, mark millar does a funny one about the house of dracula, plus it all goes to a good cause.

actually Final Crisis dosen't have very many tie ins
and the ones it does have look fucking rad
most of them do yes
that one by Meltzer ehhhh
and there's one with like Black Lightning and someone I can't remember that sounded not very interesting.
But I'll almost certainly end up grabbing Rogue's Revenge and Legion of the 3 Worlds in trade. And the Red Lanterns thing is just a one shot right? Either way I'm getting that in singles.
and I'm not even reading FC

I'm the same way; I'm not buying FC, but I'm going to pick up all the tie-ins that look interesting. Rogues' Revenge, Superman Beyond, Legion of Three Worlds (just to see XS again), and Revelations all look pretty interesting. Though I'll probably drop Revelations as soon as I see how the Dr. Light plot thread plays out, since I couldn't care less about Montoya or Allen in their current incarnations.
maybe he's heating the air in her lungs, causing them to expand and contract...? but you know, we have machines that can do that now too, superman.
Also, about that,
You have to stay by her side to keep her alive, but oh well, lets go on a trip offplanet.
Also why isn't like, Doc Mid-nite there or something? Or maybe they should have her up in the fortress of solitude or JLA HQ or somewhere with better medical tech?
#3 was the last issue with JG Jones as the sole artist right?
I wonder how they are going to split the art duties.
You know, I'm really curious now why they allowed Jones to ink himself for Final Crisis. Seems like that could have saved him some time and allowed him to concentrate on the pencils.

Maybe countdown didn't ignore FC. Maybe they just didn't understand how this could possibly be made good, either. So they went and tried to make something that would make this good no matter what.

The thing that really bugs me abut it is the art isn't even that fantastic. Like that one half-page splash with Wonder Woman fighting looked pretty bad.
I sort of have to agree. I'm not sure what he's doing that several other artists couldn't do, with as much lead time as he had. Didn't he have almost a year to work on FC before the first issue shipped?

fair enough
also some of you people have really superficial and dumb complaints about FC
quit sounding like scans daily
maybe you're just stupid?
I'm sure there will be a tie-in to explain that.

besides, it's not like they actually did it anyway
