Game is very interesting, fun for both adults and the kids in the house. Nice colourful world.

I'm a sucker for Magic the Gathering type card duels and this game fits the bill perfectly:

At the heart of Wizard101's combat system is a card game. As you level up, you acquire spells in the form of cards and collect treasure cards from monsters you defeat in combat. If you've played a collectible trading card game in the past, you should be familiar with what happens next: you pick and chose your best cards to build a deck of cards to crush your enemies. Though we didn't have enough playtime to refine our deck-building strategies, the game felt similar to many a physical TCG we've played in the past -- only with much more entertaining spell casting animations.
You begin combat by drawing a hand of cards. You chose a card, pay the price in mana and pips (you gain one pip per round of combat -- so there will be some spells you can cast immediately and other spells you'll have to wait several turns to cast). As you might have guessed by now, combat here is turn-based. Each person in combat takes turn casting spells until the combat is resolved. (To keep things moving, there is a timer on deciding your action, as seen in bright red above the hand of cards in the image above.)
And like any good card game, there's a player vs. player element where you test your skills against other wizards-in-training in a duel. Once you've tired of combat, finished your quests, and exhausted your mana pool, however, it's time to head back to town to collect your rewards.

Haun7ed is my account if that matters in the trial..
My character's name is Valkoor Deathpants .. the necromancer. I was wary at first as the game starts you off in 800x600 resolution with everything turned to low, but as soon as you make your character you can change the settings to high and what not. The game looks a FUCKUVALOT better now. Phew.
Going to download the high res textures now too as I play. I will continually edit this post with my thoughts.
As a fan of M:tG and various card based games, this seems really fun.
As Bamelin said, the artstyle is appealing. It is very childish and good natured and innocent. It's like Yoshi's Island that way. The player names get in the way of what you're trying to see and there's no way to turn it off while keeping the NPC names on, though I'm sure that will be fixed once the game is out of beta.
So I went out and did a few battles.
I got a badge which is an achievement type system where you collect badges instead of just a local note on your character status screen or whatever.
The battles I took part in were very simplistic thus far and there's no amount of strategy quite yet, but I imagine the strategies opening up once I collect more spells.
There are one-use golden-bordered treasure spells which you can equip into your deck and find on monsters/around the world.
The minigames seem fun, I've only tried one so far and it was a dig-dug clone called doodle-doug or something. I got a semi-high score, but didn't hit the leaderboard (yes there are leaderboards for minigame scores).. but what I did do is fill up my mana and get 2 one-shot treasure spells and 30 gold (which is a fair amount, actually). So minigames are definitely rewarding.
System requirements are generously low too -- P4 1.0, 1 gig memory
I was playing alteil for a while, and it's fun, but it's just a card game. It's not trying to be anythign more special.

Oh well, I'm still giving it a try.
So far I highly recommend folks to at least give this a try.
My name is game is Scot Moonstrider =D
If enough people like it maybe we can get a vent server going or something. Also I changed the OP to a more appropriate title.

Hey, I saw you in-game but you ran away before I could add you as a friend. Anyone know if there's a more convenient way to add friends?
After taking part in a few fights I gotta say, this game is pure fun.
My character is Luke Foeforge.
It keeps telling me that I can't go places because it hasen't downloaded them yet, I think? How long is that supposed to take?
There should be a percentage in the upper left hand corner of your screen.
What did I get? Ruby Slippers
Hah, yeah I just finished that one myself. The Devs have a great thing going here as long as that don't fuck it up they might have a decent hit on their hands.
I guess I have to ask the obvious question, did you put it in your deck? If so, the cards are drawn randomly. If you right click on the card available to you on your turn you can discard them and send them back into the deck. On your next turn a fresh batch should be shown to you.
I am loving the mini-games, they are basically old arcade classics. I played two so far Dig Dug, called Doodle Doug, and Joust which I forget its name. Not only is it an easy way to get magic back, but you can also win gold.
I thought I put them in my deck ... there are two pages right? One page where you put in your permanent cards, and another page where you can add in the one use ones.
Yeah, it wasn't actually downloading stuff I think. When I restarted the game it fixed itself, I think. Working fine now.
My favorite part about the Oz quest:
Whoever they have doing the writing for this thing is pretty good.
Do the cards get more complicated later on? Cause right now it seems like they are all just variations on Do X to Y damage with Z fizzle chance, with a couple of buffs thrown in.
The way I understood the treasure cars is that you have to discard cards from your hand to draw into them.
I'm a Pyromancer.
Keep adding to that list and I'll update it in the OP
Sorry, it's Fred Rainbowblade, Pyromancer. I fixed it in the quote.

I'm an idiot. I fixed my name again to what it really is.
I got a pop-up when I got my first "Treasure Card"
Put it in your deck. When in battle, discard a card you don't want and it will draw a Treasure Card.
