Hi. I am using a MBP with 10.4.11. I am using MS Office 2004.
I have an Excel workbook that came from Montreal which has complex tables and charts. None of the months, or dollar values or percentages are appearing in French Canadian format. For example, $1,234.56 should look like
1 234,56 $. I would like the months to be "Fev." instead of "Feb". They are auto formatted as months already.
Is there a way to change this all at once? Region settings dont work. neither does the Euro tool available as an add-in.
Thanks in advance.

If you go to Format Cells you can create a custom number format that does just that. It might be a small pain in the ass to figure that whole deal out, though.
There might also already be an option in the Currency section of that menu option, too.

There isn't an option for that in currency.
As far as the custom number format, that could work, but it's a bit hard to figure out. I stumbled on this link to an add-in called "Numbers" for like, OS 9.5 or something. that would be perfect...
I'm almost positive that all of this appears properly on the machines where it came from...but i can't emulate it for some reason...

Now you just need to find the option to swap periods and commas. There's a setting somewhere, I know it exists in there, that allows you to swap whether Excel displays periods or commas.
Also getting the dates to appear in French I don't know about. Stick with numeric months.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have converted my keyboard layout, and my regional settings to French Canadian with no luck. This is far beyond my responsibilty, as I am a Graphic Designer. I have sent the spreadsheet to our Translation department in Montreal to see if the data appears correctly there. If not, then it is an error in the data itself.
Thanks again.

That's the format string.

If I recall correctly, changing your keyboard and language settings to french automaticly solves the problem.
Thanks again.
