I've been going to PAX every year, and I'm turning 21 on the 27th so this is shaping up to be a particularly interesting Expo. However, most of the people I was planning to go with have bailed out so I may decide to skip this one.
I have a friend visiting Portland, OR that weekend, so I won't be in Seattle.
So !not attending, I guess.

No way, dude, I'm not even being a dick about it. It's one of my middle school / high school friends making a visit to Portland on that weekend, and then the cherry on top I have a college friend coming through as well.
The college friend will be in Seattle beforehand, and completely unprompted by me previously has poured a beer on an ex-girlfriend's head. I'm thinking, if I work things right and ask him the favor real sweet like, I could still have my influence felt on PAX just yet. Muaahhahahaha. Gotta love crazy alcoholic friends.

Looking at the shenanigans Thursday I am not sure what I'm free for, I arrive early on my flight but my roomies (Visiblehowl and crew) are coming on the train so I need to somehow keep free to hook up with them still. Sounds like this may work out best, I could catch up with them and then head out for this, seems easier than trying to take part in the pub crawl.
Dragonfish happy hour would be my suggestion. It runs from 10pm to 2am, or 4pm to 6pm. I would strongly suggest the 10pm to 2am. It is within easy walking distance of the Convention Center.

That looks like a fantastic place. The West Coast Train Trip gets in at 8:45 or so on Thursday, so that would allow plenty of time for me, at least, to get there. Plus, I can get pretty trashed on $3 cocktails...

Yep. I DM for Hacksaw, Zen Vulgarity, Oboro, Greeper, Goose!, and Inquisitor, and Wonder Hippie may be working fill-in at some point since Zen's schooling is eating his attendance.

Thursday is what I've been assuming as well. It makes the most sense since some of us may have taken Friday off from work, so will be able to recover from a hangover that morning while us teetotallers grab a spot in line.

I won't actually be drunk, but I'll get up early that day so that I'm having a hard time forming words after 10pm and it'll be as if I were drunk.

Though, now that I look at my calendar, I think that I already have plans to do some drinking that weekend.
Any bars have good happy hours? Nothing better than five buck pitchers of a good microbrew.
