So, I was reading Brubaker's Criminal recently, and on one page there's a reference to a comic strip, Frank Kafka, P.I.
I know that this is referenced somewhere else, too, I think in the context of the person writing a ridiculous strip that doesn't make any sense, but I can't remember what it was from, and it's kind of killing me with annoyance.
Does anyone remember where it came from? Google isn't being helpful.

There's an episode of Mission Hill in which Andy is struggling getting his comics accepted to any magazines due to the writing in them. One of them shows a guy at a butcher touching a piece of meat and the guy is saying "That is so Kafka-esque" and it's supposed to be about how people use the word "Kafka-esque" in situations where it doesn't belong.
This may not at all relate to what you're talking about, but it's what I first thought about when you said Frank Kafka and a comic strip that doesn't make any sense.

That wasn't it, but Mission Hill was awesome, so thank you.
