So, my stepdaugher is trying to remember the name of a children's book from the mid to late 90's

apparently there were magic stones of some sort, i guess there was a series of books, and each book had a different color of stone.

Also, there may have been unicorns.

I'm not kidding, this isn't a fakepost, she wasn't able to remember what it was called, and didn't believe i could figure it out.

So, any ideas?

edit: also, a girl in the story could help animals, possibly understanding their speech, or something to that effect.

And between you and me, something amazing happened... and now I can talk to animals. It's really cool, but totally secret. And you know what? Life's never been the same.
