Project Powder Trailer

What is Project Powder?

Project Powder is a free (cash shop-supported) snowboard racing game. And it just entered open beta.

Set in a future where global warming has destroyed the world's ice caps and winter sports are a thing of the past, the titular Project Powder was initiated to find new ice-rich planets ideal for snowboarding. The project was a success, and now snowboarders from around the galaxy head to planet Delphinus to take advantage of its low gravity atmosphere and shred a planet full of pristine powder.

How do I play it?

Very easily.

Go to playprojectpowder.com, register an account, and download the client. That's it.

Why should I play it?

Because it's SSX online for free!

Other features include:

- A Robust Trick Tree - Take on difficult license tests and unlock new skills to more quickly fill your boost meter and blast past the competition.
- 3 Game Modes - Race to the finish in Race Mode, use your wits to collect the most coins in Coin Mode, or wield over-the-top weaponry in Battle Mode.
- In-Game Events - Race against the GMs and compete for the top spot in the online leaderboard.
- Crew Support - Essentially guilds; form crews with in-game message boards and earn crew points.
- Socketed Items - As any Diablo/World of Warcraft addict knows, putting colored gems in matching holes is strangely satisfying and incredibly addictive.
- Snowball fights

You get to re-pick your character, but you have the same name. I'll add you to the list.

Wow... except for a little hickup on the installation, this is kinda fun. I guess this is what SSX Multiplayer would have been like. Now If I can just figure out how to map this to my 360 controller...

I'm impressed, this is actually a rather fun and good SSX-alike. It does have than annoying time-limited items thing going on though, but from my experience so far player skill counts for alot more than a few stat points. As a level 1 nobody I was competing favorably with level 7-10 people and only losing races because I didn't know the tracks yet.

    my ingame name is themarshall

yeah, it's a combination of luck and money to get the stat increase items.
Luck to get three of the same type of gem.
Money to buy the magic box that will turn it into a stat item.

It's real easy to get in game cash to buy new gear, though. Just do a coin race.

I'll throw down as nocren too.

Sorry I haven't had time to play as much as I want or update this thread (busy preparing to leave for school).

Coin mode is definitely my favorite; it reminds me of the find-a-coin mode in 1080: Avalanche. Battle mode seems like it would be a lot of fun, but is really an unbalanced nightmare. Apparently there is such a thing as gameplay that is too chaotic. Who knew?
