okay so I've been on an alt-country bender for a few months and I just extremely recently bumped into the old 97's despite the fact that they've been around for over a decade. unnnnnngggg I've been listening to the avett brothers on almost a constant loop lately interspersed with some wilco and ryan adams and calexico and have determined that there is no genre better than alt. country and any dissidents can go straight to hell.

so, please, discuss music. and if you have any awesome alt. country bands please post them in this thread and also put my name in the post so I can find it on vanity searches.

    Ryan Adams is fucking rad live.

    I love Limbeck, even though their usually more lumped in with emo bands than alt-country. I especially love this song because it references areas near my house.

    I really dig Electric Version and Mass Romantic, but about Twin Cinema I started to just like three songs and the rest blended together. I had heard these melodies before! Challengers was a much more mellow regurgitation. Besides Neko's song, it was generica.

    I totally agree there too. I have all their albums and EPs. Jerry Cantrell's two solo albums were good too.
