Man I don't HATE you, I am frustrated with the simple idea of an opinion being repeated simply because I want to express agreement with the things currently being said. I hardly brought it back up and the people talking about it now were not even posting the last time this was all raised. It's not an experiment. He's playing survivor, and the only way to get us to take it seriously was to make us assume it's a perma ban.
Tube is straight forward, what he says, he means. He's going to ban someone from that list. More precisely, he's going to ban whoever we vote for.
He's not teaching teefs a lesson, if anything we are teaching him a lesson. He's not gauging our responses, he's not seeing how we react to having power, basically he's not doing any of the crazy theories people have been coming up with.
He's playing a game, a game that a bunch of people are falling into.
The reason he didn't give a firm length of time was because he wanted people to assume that it's going to be a perma ban.
Then a bunch of you start showing your true colors. Some people saw this as a chance to get rid of someone they hate. They start attacking other forumers, saying things they probably wouldn't have said if they knew they were coming back. Some have shown that they are terribly invested in this, which is hypocritical for me to say because I love this place just as much as the next person.
And with people assuming it's a perma ban, they take it seriously.
With everyone taking it seriously, tube gets to laugh at all the people who are freaking out over all this trivial bullshit, which he runs. Which means he's actually controlling you to an extent. He's actually got some form of influence over your life. He's made your heart beat faster at the thought of kicking someone you hate out. He's got you sweating that for posting in this thread, you'll be banned. He's got you thinking that he's going to ban everyone but the winner.

it's interesting, because on the one hand you could argue that it's stupid for anyone to dislike people on an internet forum enough to vote for them to be banned, but at the same time how important is it that someone be allowed to continue to post?
I think part of the reason why this is somewhat unsettling is that it kind of forces the question of "How important is this forum, truly?" into the spotlight. Or, to put it another way, "How seriously do you take this community?" Because if you don't take it seriously, and it's just fucking around and all that internet serious business etc., then you are don't care if someone gets banned. But if you actually dislike someone enough to think they OUGHT to be banned, as in it is for the good of the community, then there's a bit of a conflict there. If you take it seriously, then you think that people should not be ejected from it frivously or needlessly or viciously.
Anyway I'll shut up now.
Honestly I think anyone getting this riled up about who might (or might not) be banned needs to take a step back and realize it's a goddamn internet forum. We all enjoy posting for our various reasons, but I'd hope most of us have enough of a life that banning us wouldn't really upset very much. If it WOULD, reassess, kids.

I am not feeling hateful... as I said over and over again, I am becoming increasingly more depressed as this thread goes on. I have never been anything BUT sad in this thread, though it might've been misinterpreted for angry or hostile as per my posting style.
