So I just beat Resident Evil 4.
Yup, just now. MOMENTS ago.
I had a roomate who had the game, and I played about 80% of it on GameCube, then heard about the Wii Edition - so by that point, I was already late. And then I went and got the Wii Edition, on launch day!, and played through about 50%.
Then I just stopped. I let my brother borrow it, and he beat it, and he said it was fantastic. And my other brother, who doesn't PLAY games, watched him beat it, and went out and bought a cheap GameCube JUST so he could get that Resident Evil 3 pack. And they kept saying "You gotta finish it! Its so good!" and I kept saying, yeah, I bet it is."
And now that I've spent the past 2 weeks playing through every couple days, I FINALLY beat it, and am all excited. It was a great game, and although the VERY end was SUPER weak, I loved the thing overall - and I think these 3 extra Ada Mission things are awesome.
But - there's no one really to talk to about it. Everyone's way over this game by now, and other than "Yeah, I told you it was great!" there's really not much else to say. I have no idea why I didn't play this sooner, but for some reason I just never did.
So with that said, if anyone else has missed the boat on a game, hop aboard. We can all talk about how 3-20 years ago what we're saying would have been interesting.

I never finished BioShock, I'm currently nearing the end of my playthrough of Half-Life 2, I never finished a Metal Gear game, Metroid Prime or Shadow of the Colossus, and I've barely started Psychonauts and Beyond Good and Evil.
I own all these games, though. Somewhere. I need to have some sort of Backlog Week at some point soon and just play them all.
@gamefacts - Totally and utterly true gaming facts on the regular!
Yeah, I've been working on my backlog for most of the last month, so I've beaten a few of my older games, and I fully expect more of this catching up experience.
That's pretty much how I treat PC games in general. They get shelved for 3-5 years until my computer hardware is up to snuff enough to play them.
Crysis? I'll be getting around to that in about 2011.

I bought the original Halo for my 360. It's such a borefest I couldn't get past the third mission.
Really doesn't make me want 2 or 3.

Haven;'t seen anyone discuss this game much in the last few years.
Yeah, if you didn't finish the first one, I would say to not waste the money on 2. I found the singleplayer experience of the first game more enjoyable. If I get the third one, it'll only be to play multiplayer with this girl I know who is big into Halo.
RE4 is awesome and I need to play it again.
Especially that water level with the duel chainsaw Dr Salvador. Curse his undestroyable ass.
