Ok, so there is Guitar Hero 1,2 & 3, and Rock Band, if you want to pretend to be Pete Townsend or all of the Who.
There's Dance Dance Revolution if you want to pretend to be an overweight 14 year old with no friends
Or there's American Idol or Singstar or what have you if you want to pretend you're... on American Idol.
Of if you are cool and/or old school and/or hardcore there's Parappa the Rapper and UmJammer Lammy, which are fucking awesome.

I recently downloaded Snow ((Hey Oh)) by Red Hot Chili Peppers and thought it would be the hardest guitar song in Rock Band, then I got Sleepwalker by Megadeth, which is punishing as fuck while still being awesome.

it's neat
that's the only guitar game i've played
i am absolutely horrible at DDR
i can't sing but it's pretty easy to fool the karaoke games into thinking you're singing well, which leads to funny noises
ouendan is pretty awesome though
The one with 10 buttons or so and you have to slap them

also Rock Band is amazing
EBA is too easy and most of the songs are terrible. they did a good job carrying over the style though. ouendan 1 is fantastic. ouendan 2 is also great but so far (i'm about 6 in?) the songs aren't really anything special. the ouendan 1 songs are more varied and special.
Maybe fireworks, but now those seem supplemental to the belt buckle.
I have always wanted to pretend to play my favorite songs instead of taking the time to load the game up
EBA is so much better than ouendan because the songs are about 4000 times better

Rock Band is good times but the drums for GH World Tour look like they'll deliver much better. It's tempting to finally get an electric kit since I mostly practice in the house now and apparently you can hook them up to the game, bonus.
