Well, if we're all sick of Nintendo's "crap", then we could start actually talking about crap they're responsible for instead of third parties. Even that's debatable, I think the Wii is a fine system for gaming.
You could talk about the online. I rarely game online so that doesn't bother me.
You could talk about the fact that it doesn't play standard music CDs. Again, doesn't really bother me.
But I will always be bothered by the lack of DVD playback. And no, no homebrew device that quickly screws up your laser is a good replacement. I watch DVDs every night, but chances are I've been playing the Wii instead of the PS3, so I have to switch the PS3 cables back in every night (I have one of those 3-in-1 component cables for all systems).

But you've already got 52 dvd players in your house m i rite?
I know you're being sarcastic, but even if I did, I only have one input hooked up at a time.
I wouldn't really say it's a "fault" of the Wii, I'm basically just nitpicking, since that's what this thread seems to be about.
Get one of those input selection switchers. That's what I have for my setup. TV only takes 1 input, but I have 4 things hooked up to it at all times (Wii, PS2, Media PC, and DVD Player.)
I change between the systems, literally, at the push of a button.
One thing Nintendo's online actually does right that the other systems haven't done yet (!) is gifting. I've surprised a few friends with VC games on their birthdays. Hell, a friend of mine woke up his birthday morning, all starry-eyed, turned on his Wii and got a brand-new Gunstar Heroes, free of charge to him.

Don't those things cost like $50 though, or something like that?
Whenever accessories cost that much, I always end up getting a game instead or something. Took me forever to get a guitar for my PS3.

How much they cost depends on what kind of features you need from it. And how much the price is justified depends on how much saving yourself a ton of hassle is worth to you :P
Why? I have a 32" tube TV and a cheap system switcher with 5 inputs. Games look great and are easily switched between. I even run games from my laptop (it's capable of UE3 games, and even stuff like Asassin's Creed, on medium/high settings) hooked up to it, and those look great too.

As long as they're the keepers of the formet, its acceptance by third parties is their responsibility. It's their job to sell the merits of the Wii to developers as much as it is to sell the merits of the Wii to consumers.

I do and it does bother me, because we've had viable options for online gaming for well over a decade, and if you want to limit it to consoles only we've still had a viable model since 2002. There's just no reasonable excuse.

Since upgrading my computer, I only really use my 360 and that's for playing DVDs. I should get GTAIV and SC4 at some point though.
My Wii hasn't seen use since February though. It's partly because Nintendo has the most incompetent release schedule ever (I long since lost interest in Brawl with other games coming out etc. Brawl was only released in NZ in June IIRC) and there really aren't a lot of games on the system I actually want. The last game I played through and really enjoyed on the Wii was Mario Galaxy. Even my PS2 gets more use.
I have no objection at all to switching inputs if it wasn't currently a pain in the ass to get to the back of the TV the way it's set up now. Sucker has like 7 inputs total, but only 2 of them are component. So the Wii and 360 get them, while the PS2 gets to settle with S-video. Once in a while I might bust out the high def for a PS2 game, in which case I take out the system I haven't played the longest, in hopes that I don't have to go back there anytime soon (it never works )
In my dream setup of the perfect home theatre, the only requirement I'd have is total ease of access to the back of the TV. Even if it only had 1 input total, I really wouldn't mind at all as long as I could get to it painlessly.

Every game or console mentioned in this thread sucks, IMHO.

I may have made up the starry-eyed part.

Mine's a Vizio 720p LCD HDTV.

Not HD, no. I can hook up another set of composite.
