I think you're asking the wrong people. I'm pretty sure you have to register on the site and wait for id to send one. Which hasn't happened for me since this thread started.
We did have a system where we put you on the end of the list on the OP, and then when you got an invite we removed you from the list, so people knew who to give invites to.
But cos of lack of interest it seems to have dwindled. Which is a shame....
alright, I just got a fresh batch of 5 invites, since i dont want to be choosy and I have no clue who has actually gotten invited, next 5 people to reply get it. You need your first/last name (i guess it could be bogus), e-mail, and attempt at guessing your skill level (beginner/intermediate/expert)
I never posted in this thread since I thought it would be some kind of cluster-fuck of confusion. It has turned out to be. Still, if posting now gets me one of these fresh new invites, then I'm all for whoring myself out:
Well I got an invite and wish I didn't. Using bog standard IE6 the site is a mess. Side gfx all messed up. Lobby won't let me do anything other than launch the training level. Can't configure mouse from outside the game. Can't choose levels, can't configure character, can't do anything. Great swathes of it are blank grey squares.
And what's with this "play game in a browser" scam they're trying to pull? It's still a client download, only the lobby is browser based and the client stream level data, which Quake did anyway.

you play the game in the browser, you don't launch an installed app. You just need to download some content to make that possible. All of the other problems are the result of this being a beta, I have had no trouble config'ing my controls and character.

It's not really something to sigh about since there isn't really a Windows version available yet either.
