As much as I like giant axes, I wish I could make a custom character with Astaroth's move set but with Rock's weapons.

So I was playing with a friend of mine and we decided to go Random.

I got Setsuka and he got Rock. I was incredibly happy, since Rock sucks and Setsuka is my favourite character! It was not before long that happiness turned into sorrow as the Manliness of Rock quickly devoured me.

He's not an easy char to play, but he can give incredibly satisfying victories.

You'll also have the advantage that most people aren't used to fighting Rocks. I agree that he should have a bit more range.

The big thing that bothers me about his play style is that he feels like he should have more range (his weapon looks big enough) but then he seems to pull all of his attacks short. Like, instead of swinging out, he'll swing down to the ground. I always feel like he's thinking, "Whoops, that was close! Almost hit that guy!"

Rock is always in the Rock tier, that's just the way it is. I like to think the game designers are doing it on purpose by this point.

I love my Mina, but she's really not all that great. Some of her moves are a little bugged, and she's kind of trash outside of tip range. Strangely, she doesn't fight well against other ranged characters, either.

Ditto, my two fav characters are Setsuka and Mina. But I always feel underpowered when fighting with Mina.

I do love the jumping triple attack with Mina, rare are the times I use it, effectively, in combat, but... It always leaves me smiling.

I'm sad that Rock sucks because my brothers can no longer have their epic Rock vs. Astratoth fights that they had it in 3(I know he sucked in 3 too but it was basically just them knocking each other around for fun).

Rock still has the best CF hands down though.

Either the pool is getting deeper, or I'm actually getting worse at this game. I did kind of lean away from the gimmicky Raph that I was playing to something a little more substantial, but I'm thinking maybe I'm not actually good enough to pull it off. If only I could break my FC3BB habit. That thing wrecks chumps, but makes my fights against good people way too predictable.

The only stance Raph has should (in my scrubby opinion) be basically imperceptible since you should be leaving it so quickly. Prep->KJFK has been known to beguile though. If I could master that prep->6A3BBBJFB combo, I think it would up my ratio a bit. I also need to develop some sort of wakeup game.

I press the buttons. To be fair the B button isn't completely broken, but it only registers sometimes. Which sucks. :(

    I bought it from Amazon.

EDIT : After extensive testing it turns out that the USB end on the Cable was loose. (the part that's suppose to break off, at that end)

    That is all.

After further extensive extensive testing I've found out a few more things with Hilde that I was unaware of.

Now I'm like all Super Saiyan with her.

1A is a very sweet move, but easy to predict if you're used to fighting Mitsurugi. Every time Mitsu spins around downward you know that 90% of the time that sweeping move is coming, which is kinda slow and easily jumped/B'ed. I suggest you try mixing it up a bit, perhaps using 2K,B, which is faster and often catches people off guard.

I don't have any other real tips, my experience with Mitsurugi online was fairly short(2 days I think)... But I know that he is a terrifying character when fighting people who properly use stances.

I also spam B, but only when fighting Yoda. I find that I can counter nearly all of his moves with Setsuka's B spam... Either that or I just keep fighting inexperienced Yodas.

Like Kylogue said, add some 2K,B in there, and the occasional 4K,B wouldn't hurt either. For his wakeup game, throwing out a 3B or 2K,B is a great mixup given their speed. You can also throw from his Mist stance, which takes most people (including me) by surprise.

Also has some very cool attack throws in Mist as well. B, 4B is one. another, 4B6 (this one is especially useful, can ring someone out from well inside the stage). They seem to come out faster than the equivalent moves do from normal stance.
Another move that is useful and is almost never seen is 8A+B or 9A+B.. can punish a lot of Kilik's big long range moves with that.

Cool move I just found for Zasalamel: B+K. Does no damage, but knocks the guy down. Ringing someone out with this move is the equivalent of killing someone with the prod in Worms.. and the best part is, it is incredibly fast. I was messing around with him last night and it was nice to see he doesn't have that many moves, and no special stances, so he's a little easier to learn. But, his style is way different than what I am used to. Not much for combos or big juggles.. all about mix ups.

I disassembled my controller and used a dremel on it, but I don't feel like there's any improvement on mine. I can work around my dpad's deficiencies, but carving out the dpad well didn't do much for me. I did, however, get slightly better results with the foam tape mod.

Hopefully it works better for others than it did for me. Although if you want to open a wireless controller to go all dremel on it or add foam tape, you'll need a Torx 10 security bit screwdriver. You can get them on mod sites, but I'm not going to link them here.

Well...I don't really have to much of a problem with it, but it is pretty stiff. I know on more than one occassion it has cause me to use a direction I didn't mean to just because of the way it's built. And when that mistake causes you to get hit by a combo for a good 1/3 of your health it can be annoying.
