Normal people mutated by radiation. a.k.a. ZOMBIES!
As for me, I'll travel the wastes in a trenchcoat and wide-brimmed hat and be known as the smiling reaper. If you get on my bad side you can request how you will want it all to end, perforation or extra crispy.
I don't know if this has been said before but the fallout 1 resolution patch link doesn't have the file. Does anyone know where I can get it?
theres a new version out so the link probably has changed, theres a new version out for a lot of mods too, just check the nma download section for fallout 1 and youll find it, dont have the link handy at the moment.
Although, RPG Codex is apparently pretty bad, too, going so far as to send death threats to Bethesda.
What.
the internet is serious business.
But if these idiots are to act on those threats, does that mean they'll have to get out of their basement?
Could they even do that?
Back on topic, hearing these positive comments about Fallout 3 is just making me want to play it more and more. I was excited since the day I learned about this, but there was always a tiny part of my brain that was cautiously optimistic, and trying to reject the hype. Now I welcome said hype with open arms. Come to me, Fallout 3!
There is nothing more frustrating than walking to the Glow, getting there with one RadX left, and realizing you forgot to get a rope.
FUCK!
I loled.
Don't play chess.
Actually, play chess if you can't get the computer to like you. Otherwise, yeah, don't.
Not with only one RadX left, the S. Comp will win by default.
Computer, chess, what?
I just got the holodisk and ran when I came back. Got addicted to radaway after I suffered a massive dose of radiation. 850 rems by the time I got to the hub.
Theres more to the glow than just grabbing the disc on the first floor. You should go back sometime with more anti-rad drugs. Lotsa loot.
Oh, I'm sure. It's just that my skin started melting off. I was also being electrocuted by the elevator doors. Sets the tone for the rest of that journey, really.

Just a heads up, both of the links under Fallout 2 lead to the resolution patch

Did I broked it? Yeah. I broked it. It's fixed now, thanks.

While waiting in line for the demo yesterday someone knocked one of the mannequins over onto it's face. It looked *quite* post-apocalyptic after being caved in quite nicely. The demo was worth waiting for though... I queued up four headshots with VATS - the fourth shot was a rather graphic decapitation. M for Mature is right.
I also caught an eyeful/earful of some plot that we weren't supposed to see. Considering a twist was coming so early into the game it looks like the main story is going to be a blast.
The question at the point is 360 or Games for Windows... Exclusive DLC in this case is a bit more of a draw for me here than it was for GTA 4.

Except that the DLC will also be coming for the PC as will mods (not at launch but eventually).

And considering how mod heavy past Bethsoft games are and the fact that this is Fallout 3, I will wager that the mod scene will be quite large.

Sorry, that's what I meant. It's down to 360 and PC because of the DLC. I'm just not sure if I want to enjoy it on my 360 (drop in and play) or my PC (potential modding heaven).
Combat in Fallout 1 was better because the enemies didn't all have a million heath points

All those hit points didn't really matter for her - you could poke her in the eye and she'd splatter across half the cave.
I was never really bothered by the higher HP in Fallout 2. You didn't have the level limit, and if you paced yourself and got extra exp, got some good perks and a good gun, you could take everything short of Frank Horrigan's hp down in one good hit. My most overpowered build involved maxed agility and perception, sniper, better criticals, action boy, and fast shot. You give up targeted shots (you can waste a perk on mutate to hold off on fast shot until you've got the other perks in place), but get a gun that fires in as few AP as you can put out four big crits every turn. By the time I got down to San Francisco, I was splattering entire Enclave patrols in one turn.

It's not like you have to reinstall it every time you want to play

Pretty much par on course for RPGCodex then.
I'll always remember fondly how RPGCodex was going on and on about how Oblivion was not a proper Role-Playing game because the user had too much control of the Role of their character.
I too am not sure on what platform to buy Fallout 3 on... PC is very tempting just for the mods, but there's just this strange pleasurable sensation about putting a disk into my 360 for the first time and knowing that it will WORK.

-snip the sane stuff-
Are these people, along with NMA, the end result of a covert CIA drug test? I can't even imagine what is wrong with these people that causes them to be so bat shit crazy.

The CIA and other government facilities stopped this testing too early to have included so many people in these sites' age ranges. I think there's something toxic used in the creation of video games - too much contact with the same game causes a form of dementia.

How were the NPCs facial animations? Because they seemed kind of dead in all the videos.
