One of the Greatest RPGs of All Time Returns This Holiday Season
Los Angeles (August 18, 2008)
Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of Square Enix® interactive entertainment products in North America, announced today that its highly anticipated Nintendo DS™ title CHRONO TRIGGER® will ship to North American retailers on November 25, 2008. A groundbreaking RPG that became an instant classic, CHRONO TRIGGER is set to be one of the most compelling handheld titles available this holiday season.
Remastered exclusively for Nintendo DS, this newly enhanced edition maintains all of the game’s original elements and spirit while introducing portability, dual-screen presentation and Touch Screen functionality.
Originally released in 1995 on the Super NES® and subsequently shipping more than 2.5 million copies worldwide, CHRONO TRIGGER is critically acclaimed as one of the greatest video games of all time. Praise continued to be showered upon the title at last month’s E3 2008 Media and Business Summit, with CHRONO TRIGGER receiving accolades including “Best RPG†and “Best DS Game.â€
Players can look forward to a reunion with CHRONO TRIGGER’s multifaceted storyline, memorable soundtrack and exhilarating gameplay this November.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm all set to buy whatever square-enix wants me to, especially if I already played it ten years ago on SNES.
this is good news. kinda wish it was on the psp though, since the second screen does fuck all in rpgs and its nice to have better graphics.
Well they did say in the press release that is exclusively DS. So yeah I'm sure the PSP should be getting it too

I read an article the other day that basically called this the most overrated RPG ever. I think it was a game informer someone left in the shitter at work.

Whoever called it overrated should be raped in the eyeball repeatedly. The probably assumed it was overrated because everyone always says how much they loved ChronoTrigger. And that's because of how awesome it was, not only as a game, but as a concept as well.

Was this magazine actually in the toilet when you found it? Did you remember to wipe your ass with it when you were done?
Chrono Trigger, besides Earthbound, is one of the only JRPGs I can legitimately say I really enjoyed. I never finished it, though.

I finished it at least four times because I wanted to get as many endings as possible. I know there were more endings than that but then there were other games to play and I moved on.

I will be more thorough this time. Yesss.
if they can put in the effort to refurbish ff3 and 4 why not chrono trigger
definitely getting this
Okay.
Does it have the animations from the PS1 version?
Going to the future or going to the dinosaur past
Which ever it is, that's where I stopped playing.
also he designed the monsters (and the rest of the art, really) for Dragon Quest, and those things are adorable, so I can't hate him entirely
I'd play the shit out of that. (HAHA!)
I tried to play FF5 on my PS3 and it didn't work at all. Stupid PS3 and its BS backwards compatibility.
I doubt they'll remake it for DS, as it is available for GBA.
And scuttlebutt says that the DS version of CT will include the animated cutscenes from the PS1 version.
I dunno, FFIV was made for GBA and they still remade that for DS.
All cutting the mountain in half and shit.
future
also for shame swordfights
how could you
the future is one of the best goddamn parts
I can't tell you why I stopped, I think it's against the rules.
Goddamn I cannot get enough of these portable castlevanias
I don't care if they're all kinda the same because they are so very fun
I may pick it up and play it again.
meiss - wait what?
I get what you are saying here
this is one helluva ironic post
