Awful. Arena is difficult enough with teams of eight, who wants 24-32 players running around those cramped maps (Asiina doesn't count)?

Arena already scales up to 12 on 12 with 24 players on the server, this ensures that no one has to wait in the queue (which is retarded).

I have no clue how they did but I was watching a match between people who work Valve and people who work at Terminal Reality on sourceTV. The match got postponed because of lag. So instead of leaving the server, Valve entered godmode and preceded to kick the crap outta TR. Also, unless they have 2 Robins, that was likely Robin walker.

Also lots of custom maps have road maps in or around the spawn. Look at Science which everyone here is completely in love with and its GIANT WALL MAP. Nobody seems to have a problem with that.

EDIT: And the science map is a lot more detailed. The one in Steel is basically letters in circles with arrows saying, basically saying "you can get to D from A" or that after you cap B you can get to E from A or B. Since the map changes to make things easier for blu, it's helpful to keep an updated path.
I've never played Science but that sounds dumb.

    I HATE science.. It's crap

It's simple really. I play TF2 because it is an action packed game. Even when i die I am back into the mayhem in a maximum of 20 seconds. Arena mode is the exact opposite of this. One surprise back stab, one headshot, and I'm out for the round. If my team loses I'm out for two rounds.

The gameplay is everything I disliked about Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat and Gears of War, so I will do everything to avoid it.

But fuck I want to play on the new maps.

Wow, I was about to type out this same post but didn't because I myself haven't played Arena mode yet. I haven't played it yet because I knew it would be how you described, Sudden Death all the time with tons of waiting.

This is why I don't play CS, and do play games like TF2 and Battlefield. Waiting for more than 20 seconds is pretty archaic.

If I converted Ravine/Lumberyard into single-CP mayhem, 12v12 with respawns...And maybe the 60 second setup/wait time before the CP is activated...

    1. Who would play it?
    2. Would any server host it? I don't feel like doing things unless I'm pretty sure it can get on a server. (I'm lazy.)

Can't one of three servers just have arena maps in a completely retarded fashion? 12 vs. 12 with respawning if possible. It would just be a killfest until the midpoint opened , and then it would just be an intense battle for mid, but I think it could be kind of fun.

How can I force Steam to download and install games onto a different hard drive? Apparently I don't have enough space for TF2 on C but I know I definitely do on F. Do I have to uninstall Steam and reinstall it on F?
Take the .gcf files (I think they're in the Steam/SteamApps directory), copy them over to your F drive. Uninstall steam on C:, reinstall on F:, re-copy those .gcf files back into the new F:/Steam directory and you should be mostly good to go.

I'm pretty sure this is the proper technique.
