I wasn't sure how else to put it, but I think I need some help. For some strange reason I recently got the bug to read a bunch of comic books, and so I dove in, reading around on some recommendations to see what I might like, and...I'm stuck.
Some background:
Last year I read the Watchmen after seeing it in the Time 100 best books of the 20th Century. It was awesome and I loved it.
So I moved onto The Dark Knight Returns. Fantastic.
So I picked up Ronin. Loved it.
So I got the big 1500 page Bone book (based on this forum). Fabulous.
So I picked up 300. Great stuff.
So I bought The Killing Joke (based on this forum). Didn't care for it one bit.
So I bought the first digest of The Runaways (based on this forum) and I thought: meh.
So I got this Marvel thing, and I went through a quick browse and determined I liked "The Ultimates" and "Civil War" and "The Astonishing X-Men".
Of course they only give you access to 1-7 or so of these, and I wonder what complete collections I can nab for a decent price that fits with what I've enjoyed so far. I'm hoping someone can guide me based on likes and dislikes, since my tastes don't make a lot of sense to me. Some of the comics I've heard recommended would require me buying a $20-$30 book to even see if I like it. I've heard that the Eternals or Sandman or something might be up my alley, but since I wasn't overly thrilled with the Runaways I wanted to see if someone could spot-check me based on what I've had success with thus far.
