Anyone trying the online Heavy Rain game? They have a decidely creepy twitter account. I suspect it is the Oragami Killer descending into madness. They also had a series of youtube videos with buttons where you kept a woman calm on the phone. Soon we'll have forensics evidence from the murder she witnesses.
I'll probably go through it all towards the end to get the experience a little better than having it piece-mealed out. That's the one thing I dislike about these kinds of Online Experience sorts of thing, is that it's hard to stay interested in, when they stagger them all out over weeks.
I wanted to get into it, and first day, I checked out the Twitter and all that, but then it was just like "What now?"
Well, it looks like they have actors running twitter accounts. One witnessed a murder. One of the pieces of evidence is some oragami found at the scene.
I think the witness is a homeless man with twitter access. Odd.

Hey everyone, haven't posted on PA in awhile but I've been tracking Heavy Rain for a long, long time. Just wanted to say that I have a friend that works for a fairly major Playstation review site that just finished the game and he came to torture me about it.
Anyways, he said it took him about 10 hours and he got through with all 4 characters survivng. The big question - how is it? He said expect the review to be epic. Looks like a good sign.

Gah! When did the release date get pushed back a week? I had it marked on my wall callendar as the 16th I guess this gives me more time to mess around with Mass Effect 2
Ten hours is a decent length. I would have liked a super-long 40-hour epic saga, especially given how long they've been working on it, but I'm ok with a very polished shorter game.
Wow, it's like I'm actually in a bathroom watching someone pee! The future is here!

Actually, I was looking for the above scene, and I found some weird barefoot appreciation site that is really excited for Heavy Rain because Madison is barefoot in her apartment.
I was unimpressed with the first half of the video, the showering and peeing and so forth seem so pointless, but the action was really tense and I was getting into it. I'm kind of interested in picking this up now.

You're not fooling anyone. You want that pee scene in your living.

This game looks sooo good but I have to agree - the first half of that video I could do without. There should be a "do/do not watch someone pee?" checkbox at install.

I don't think you have to pee.
But you can if you want to.
Also, the periods of nothing contrast to the periods of intense action making the action all that more stressful and exciting.

The pee is integral to the tone and story of the game.
This is the first game to use the sixaxis properly.

I got to this point and thought: "peeing scene I can handle but THIS is going too far."
Then I read the rest and breathed a sigh of relief.
But holding it in will have dire consequences in the future when you're being chased down by the killer in the car and got run over because you couldn't hold it in anymore.

Probably got his hands on a Twitter Peek.

I forgot how torturous it is to preorder a game you were really looking forward to, especially once it goes gold
Then your brain forgets about how important the middlemen are in the retail, boxed game business
You start wondering why you can't play the game when you've already paid for it in full and there are shiny new discs already pressed
Can't wait until it's out.

Are you serious
There is a shower scene
I didn't shower with a curtain for a year after Psycho
shit
Well the big thing you can take away is that there is nudity.

Don't suppose anyone knows a good place online where I can pay standard (in US dollars) price? Ebay is already hoarding it up.
My UK buddy put in the request for a review copy, but I asked him to make special insistence to send out a CE copy. Let's see if I get lucky here.

1. That's a really nice apartment.
2. Those assassins are really incompetent.
3. It's like a new generation of Dragon's Lair.
Actually, I would love a Dragon's Lair game to be made like this.
Also, the action scenes seem pretty intense.
Also, yeah, totally awesome apartment. Apparently Canadians think Americans live in bigass lofts. Lucas Kane had a nice place too.

Or be totally classy and poison their food.
Maybe that's what he was doing before he left her fridge open and hid behind a beam.

I love how tastefully-placed the play button is on the preview frame.

Basically if you screw up the first time, you're basically changing the outcome, and are given another chance to activate a QTE at another scene.
Not sure if that means no Game Overs, but at least it's not like Bayonetta or RE5.

Does she? I didn't actually watch the video and it's a little blurry to tell form just that image.

I sure hope they were trying to poison her. I can't think of any GOOD reason burglars/murderers/conspirators would leave their target's fridge open.
edit: could be trying to spoil her food. THAT would teach her.
They were trying to poison her. With food poisoning. :P

Maybe they were just popping in for a bite and when she came in they were like "oh shit" and ran.

When I saw the shake the contoller up and down action prompt come up, I laughed at the "toweling off" double entendre. :winky:
