edited September 2008 in PAX Archive
Greetings all PAX attendees,

Villains from all over the universe are planning on invading PAX! Cryptic Studios and Champions Online need your help at the Champions Headquarters.

So, what does that mean for you?

Cryptic Studios is hosting a Champions Online party Friday evening at the Millenium Center -- otherwise known as the Seattle Public Library (1000 4th Ave). It's a 5-minute walk from PAX. And, really, check this place out. It is clearly a Hero HQ. The party starts at 7:00 and goes until 11:00.

Look for your FREE ticket to the Champions Online party at the Cryptic Studios booth (#1214).

Come meet the folks from Cryptic and find out about the exciting new comic book MMOG, Champions Online!

Hope to see all of you heroic types there on Friday night!

I'd still love to check this out, it'll be interesting to see how the game turns out

Hmm so much for thinking it was an insiders only industry party (got an email directly from Cryptic about it). Ah well, it will still be fun.

There will be food and alcohol (cash bar) at the event. We'll have a DJ, a fun "find-the-villain" activity (with winners getting Champions Online prize packages), and Champions Online preview. You'll also get to meet some of the Cryptic staff and learn more about Champions Online. 8-)

The party will be held in the room with the glass walls shown in the pics posted above. Go to the 4th street entrance to get into the party.

If anyone hasn't stated it yet, the building was designed by this dude:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rem_Koolhaas

I find it interesting that whenever I am hanging out with Japanese exchange students, they feel obligated to see this building, and they know who this guy is.

Cryptic put on a great show at the seattle public library. Their staff was knowledgeable and entertaining. The music gave the whole place a great vibe as we ate and drank our complimentary food (the catering was very good though the beer and wine selection very limited, but you cant be picky when its all free). The best swag was had there when you got to pick up your very own hero ID card with your pic and name and hero powers, very cool idea. It kept me entertained up until I went and saw the gamers. So far this has been the high point of my pax experience. OH! and it wasn't crowded and there wasn't a line for everything, that was nice too...

Thanks everyone for coming to the party! You guys were great!

And "truthiness" is a word to Stephen Colbert AKA "The Right Wing." Just ask him -- he coined it.

We'll be posting the prize package winners at the Champions Booth in the Exhibit Hall tomorrow -- so if you entered the contest, please stop by to see if you're a winner!

    Thanks again for coming!

This party was awesome. The venue was absolutely incredible, I didn't know you could rent out the library, the food was very good, the caterers hired friendly bartenders and overall I was just really really impressed. Thanks Cryptic, and yes, I'll be playing your game.
