My first 5-6 hours in Fallout 3 I thought it was retarded that I couldn't take more than 1 shot in V.A.T.S. mode.

After figuring out you could just click R1 multiple times then hit accept, it is I who is now the retard.

Oh yeah, I can't believe I forgot about this. The first time I played Final Fantasy Tactics I didn't know you could add units to the battles, so I just played with Delita and the main character guy. I got close to beating that first battle against the thieves, too! About the 50th time I tried I was like, "This game is fucking hard, I give up!"

Then I talked to a friend who told me that he made the same mistake, which eased the pain of being a retarded kid.

I did this as well. Must have played that first battle 5 times thinking it was impossible. Then I accidently added a character once - facepalm.

I used to ignore all side quests in RPGs and just try to power through to the ending. Little did I know that super secret optional bosses that take 45 minutes to defeat are the best part of these games.

edit- though I didn't get to fight this one, due to being American scum, and as such unworthy of cool extras in games.

What boss is that anyways? I thought I beat that game 100% but I don't remember ever seeing that.

Anyways, right now I'm playing persona 4 completely the wrong way. My persona are all about 20 levels less than MC because I want to get them all their skills before moving on. And I'm complaining about how hard the november dungeon is...

I bought a monster component cable for my Xbox. It's got gold plated tips and fancy braided cabling and everything.

I mean, I paid $4 for it about a year ago, but whatever.

Basically, any console manufacturer that doesn't include a composite/component hybrid cable like the Xbox 360 does is doing it wrong.

Don't forget the power gremlin protection!

On topic, while I've personally never done this due to having too much pride and common sense, apparently it is an extremily common practice in X3 Reunion for people to set up a freighter trade loop or a lasertower array around a jump gate on a border between two races who hate each other and then leave the game running at 10x speed so that they can rack up the cash and the racial reputation, and apparently this is one of the best legit ways to gain money and rep because of how borked up certain factors of the game are.

I am sorry, Egosoft and people who do this, but this is just fucking wrong. A game shouldn't be so conveluted that the best way to play it is to tape a key/button down and leave it alone for 12/120 hours while it grinds up stuff for you.

As for doing it wrong myself, the only thing that springs to mind was a brief period of insanity I had back during the time of the oXbox where when playing Morrowind I absolutly had to manipulate my character stats so that when my endurance hit 100 my health ended with a zero on top of the standard shenanigans and power gaming that Elder Scrolls games brings out in people. Not an action was out of step, not an exploit was left unexploited, not a calculation left undone. Fuuuuun times, those.

Yeah... I didn't know the start button skipped special attack animations until I was closer to the end than the start. I watched the lead character do his special dozens of times and if you've played the game you know how long the animations are.
