He was a teenage boy with no prior experience sewing. If the costume doesn't look silly, then it's not something he could conceivably make.

I'd rather have a costume he couldn't feasibly make than something that looks silly.

And the raised webbing was probably there because it'd be hard to make out black lines on camera.

How would it look silly? Itd essentially be the same thing except not made from individual sequins and without the raised webbing.

    And better eye pieces.

And I liked Spawn. You guys don't seem to understand that I'm not in favour of changing the films entirely, you could keep most of the premise, I'm just interesting in removing the stupid which is about 6/8 of each film.

well I can tell you that I have seen a home-made spider-man (and superman) costume and they look exactly like the movie versions. It's actually not hard to make that sort of stuff. The guy at Dragon Con explained how he did it, but i was drunk so I forgot

I win on the basis that they designed the GG, so they just made bad/stupid costumes. It could've been done better, I know it could.

the reasoning behind the goblin static mask was norman's admiration/interest in african and generic tribal masks, and to show it as more of a separate entity. I think a prosthetic would have been better, but there was a reason beyond "this will make a good toy"

Actually, I do kind of wish the Goblin was just makeup. Part of what makes Green Goblin fun is you're like "holy shit! Is that just like, a goblin? Are there goblins? That makes no sense!" and then he's like "oh I have a good prop department." It's always been a silly villain costume, but a fun and unique looking one. The one they did for the movie just looked like "Iron Man in $200".

The Spider-Suit complaint I don't get, though. I mean, he's always looked like he was wearing a perfect suit because that's just how it works. I assume it's because no one would ever go out in tights unless at the least they were decent tights.
I completely agree that the Goblin should've been makeup and prosthetics but I was just explaining what I think they were going for.

Oh, wait, Darkwarrior already declared himself winner. Pack it up, boys, we've lost.
And I liked Spawn. You guys don't seem to understand that I'm not in favour of changing the films entirely, you could keep most of the premise, I'm just interesting in removing the stupid which is about 6/8 of each film.
    So not entirely.
    Just ALMOST entirely.
Muffin Man, while I would've appreciated better formatting (your response is just a wall of text for me) I agree with your thoughts and am willing to consider your others.
I would've, but it refused to let me bold, bullet, etc anything so I had to half-ass it.

I heard alot of valid complaints about the Spidey flicks, but the whole Spider-man costume thing is a new one. I seriously never even gave it a thought.

Probably because it's not a valid complaint. It's just nitpicking because DarkWarrior is to stupid arguments about the Spidey movies like moths are to a big-ass candle.

Its not even a complaiint, its not like I couldn't watch the movie because of the costume, but its a choice I didn't like and the switch from PJ Spider-Man to Corporate sponsored suit Spider-Man was jarring.

I'll go on record as saying that Spider-Man 3 is better than an abortion. You can just go ahead and put that on the DVD box, Mr. Raimi.

You... you liked Transformers more than Spider-Man 3

You know who else liked Transformers more than Spider-Man 3?

    My sister.

My sister who paid actual money to see Paul Blart: Mall Cop in theaters.

i watched it on a cruise after doing some drinking and eating at the midnight buffet

    no hormonal imbalance at all

i would actually posit that the viewing conditions were pretty ideal, i was in a hella good mood and kind of excited to see the movie

little did i know what a steaming pile it would be
