Oh my god I had heard of I Love Bees, and about the telephone conversations and I thought only a little about them. But I never heard about hte radio drama until now. I'm only in the second week and this is amazing. There's so many stories going on, and so far, none of them are connected. Well. I can't help but feel something about their comm system (Chatter) has some underlying key, but I don't know. Maybe it's too many replays of Independence Day.

Anyways, I also did play Halo 2 in Coop and what not. And I have no idea how these stories connect yet. I hope that they do eventually. Though, I also didn't follow the Halo story that closely either. I probably should go read up on that...

I couldn't even bring myself to play through Halo 2, but damn if I don't love the hell out of ILB. There's a very good reason my desktop PC is named Durga.

I liked ILB more than Halo 2. Although looking back on it now it's rather strange that I ended up liking a marketing campaign for a product far more than the product itself.

Wow, yeah, I just finished listening to it. Never played a Halo game but it was freaking fantastic. I wish I cared enough when it was going on to participate. :(

They're actually MP3-encoded WAVs, so you should be able to just rename them to .mp3 and they'll work without even converting.

    just finished re-listening.

I never actually participated in the ARG, and being in the UK I'm not sure I could have.

The last set of clips, especially jersey's. D:

I think the key to it having that effect is a large amount is upbeat and really quite funny; therefore the bazookas it brings to bear are doubly effective.

I think there were a couple of axons in the UK, after a bunch of people complained that it was all in the US.

Again though, I have to stress how awesome the other stuff that was away from the audio stuff was. There was a whole other half of the story that explained how and why we were getting these clips, and when it all clicks it is so good.

It's a shame thebruce's page seems to be down (he was someone on the ARG forum I followed it on), as that neatly documented and organised everything you could need.

You do still have stuff like Perdita's Story
which is the one about the lost girl and the clockwork rat, and you can probably find the rest of the awesome stuff here http://ilb.extrasonic.com/index.php/Main_Page

Seriously, so much to read and find out. The whole thing was about an AI from the future that got split during a hyperspace jump, one half wound up following the story from the audio-logs, the other half ended up on the ilovebees server and caused all the corruption on the site, which is where people were pulling out stories and transcripts from all the crap that appeared there. The story about the princess and the tower or Perdita there were the damaged AI trying to fix itself.

Man, I wish there was a Delta Green ARG.

Of course, it would fuck with my head and my personal life more than Majestic did.

I <3 Bees proves that Radio Drama is a viable entertainment medium. The fact that it was set up to be heard in an ARG with everyone's cooperation was exciting. I lurked this site's threads on it as it unraveled, tried to figure out the puzzles, and was generally on the edge of my seat every time the phones rang and more info became available.

I loved it! But... but...how does this all fit into Halo 2?
Someone else mentioned that none of the characters were in Halo 2...and I don't remember seeing any of them in game play sadly enough :( But what about in terms of story, like, the deep space artifact? I admit that I didn't pay a lot of attention to the story, but I have no recall of an artifact doing anything on Earth.

Here is how it ties. IIRC.
The thing they all activate, or deactivate I guess, at the end of the ILB story sent out a signal that The Covenant picked up. Thinking that it was Forerunner tech The Covenant follow the source of the signal and are taken completely by surprise to find the Human home world. Basically, they lead The Covenant to Earth.

But whatever the device would have done had it not been deactivated... for all we know it was a device that allowed the Halo installations to be fired after being put in stand-by.

The general understanding is that it was a remote detonator, or at least a remote primer.
By deactivating it, they prevented the galaxy from blowing up right away, or at lest allowing the Covenant to activate the rings right away, but upon deactivation, it sent up a 'flare' which is what led the Covenant to earth.

They did save the planet, it was just a bittersweet victory.

    Just finished Jersey, Chapter Twelve.
You were right, SilkyNumNuts. Chills, not tears.

    Just deafening chills.

On a lighter note, anyone catch the line about honey badgers in Chapter Four?

    Hah!

Record time though? Pfft! That was slow as hell. Though she did take the bolt assembly apart, I was surprised about that.
