Greg Miller, JasonRosenbaum And Rock Band

Being on severance affords me the time to fall on some of the more amusing gaming internet dramas out there as I waste time forum surfing. Anyways thought I would share. (was 50/50 on whether posting this is ok or not, but it gave me a good laugh, thought it might for you guys too stuck at work. If not appropriate though lock and my apologies in advance)

I was over at the Playstation forums when I fell upon this:

I'm a newspaper reporter in Missouri and I used to work with IGN Playstation guru Greg Miller. He's a good guy who seems to have a pretty sweet gig at one of the more popular video sites on the Web.

I'm not really that big of a videogamer, but I absolutely love Rock Band. I've pretty much been playing the game on a frequent basis since April. I would say I'm pretty good at vocals and getting better at the other three instruments.

Greg would infrequently message me on my PS3 and tell me to play other games besides Rock Band. I do play other games - I've rented Metal Gear Solid 4 and a couple other titles - but Rock Band has nearly infinite replay value with so much DLC coming down the pipe.

So anyway, I turn on my PS3 and realized I have dozens of friend requests. And some of the requests tell me to "stop playing Rock Band." I know somehow Greg is involved, but the sheer mass of requests confused me. After chatting briefly with Greg on the PS3, I realized what had happened.

Greg had made me the "hit of the week" on his Podcast, which I guess is named "Podcast Beyond." He told all of IGN's readers/listeners to bombard my PSN e-mail with messages about my propensity of playing Rock Band all the time - as well as the fact that I am kind of lanky and soft-spoken.

I realize that my story is really not that distressing and many people here might not know who Greg Miller is. But in order to seek some lighthearted revenge on Greg, I would respectfully request you all sending lots of messages his way telling him how great Rock Band is and how people should never stop playing. His PSN name is GameOverGreggy.

I would totally do this if I had a PS3. Playing Rock Band is never a bad thing.
