Especially since there's supposedly only 200 of them, which Capcom blames on the lack of NES cartridges for them to gut.

I'm more concerned about the fact that I have 700 Wii points that cannot be put towards MegaMan 9 since the lowest increment is 1000 points, which is the cost of the game. Why there is no 500 point increment, I do not know, and am quite annoyed at.

But on the 360, you can buy varying increments, like 15 dollars. On the Wii, it's either 10, 20, 30, or 50 dollars.

Meh. I'd rather have a straight up correlation between the points and dollars than buying in increments like that.

e: By correlation I mean: $1 = 100 points. So much easier for me to see how much it is.

To be fair, really it should be $1.00 = 1 point, as I have yet to see anything that costs anything not at an even multiple of 100.

Also, I would love to get this for the wii. I want it for the wii... But I don't have the space on the wii. I will have to wait for the 360...

Some of the DLC for My Life as a King was sub 100, which is why they do that. Plus it sounds like you're getting more.

I'm not gonna boot it up and check, but I think that the cheapest DLC for that is 100.

With the XBLA setup, I've never had to buy more points than I need, so I've never had extra money sitting around in an account that is rarely used.

This is not the case for the VC.

No, that was a problem for the gamecube with its 24 megs of memory where Majora is a cart of 40 megs. The Wii has a lot more than that (24 sram, 64 gddr3 sdram), and the largest N64 pak was 64 megs (512 megabits), and thus literally any N64 game data would easily fit, in its entirety, into the Wii's memory plus room to spare for the emulation code. Including Majora's Mask.

This is all on the last page.
Is the load too much for the old girl?

Nope. So your guess as to why we don't have it yet is as good as anyone's.

Deleting works pretty well since the games download so fast and they're all saved to your system's account, although bouts of laziness may stop you from wanting to ever do that.

Given how none of the Ram Upgrade Pak games have been uploaded, I think it's safe to say they're ironing out the bugs from the GC emulaton before releaseing it.

Far be it or them to get a bunch of 1000 points for releasing the only Rare game for the N64 they can, that being DK64.

The N64 version would be tricky because Banjo and Conker are now Microsoft owned.

Wait, they're hollowing out actual NES carts to make those? From the image, it just looked like a plastic DVD case in the shape of an NES cart. Which seems a hell of a lot more practical to do in the first place.

    Another counterargument:

    vivapinatapocket_box.jpg

Of course it could still be the case that Nintendo would be the one blocking DKR on VC, because they don't want to indirectly promote B-K Nuts & Bolts (and perhaps because it could cut into DKR DS sales). But I think MS could care less (or would even be pleased because of free advertising for B-K N&B) about a DKR release on the VC.

It won't happen. DKR on the DS removed both of those characters. I'm sure it won't be free for Nintendo to have those characters in the game. Microsoft would want some form of compensation.

Nintendo allowed the Nintendo references (N64 etc.) to remain in Banjo-Kazooie XBLA. Tit for tat?

Also, you're again only looking at it from the MS side. Who says Banjo and Conker weren't replaced with Tiny and Dixie because NINTENDO wanted it (to avoid promoting MS IPs), not MS?

It's been a while since I played Banjo Kazooie, but are those references just speech ones? If so, that's a lot different from graphical references much less direct ones at that.

Still, unless this game shows up on the VC, then I'll chalk it up to either party being too stubborn to let us have the goods.

I never denied that it might be Nintendo's own doing. Looking at from a business stand point, I'm sure Microsoft wouldn't just let two of their IPs go into other games for free even if this would be a mere rom from more than 10 years ago. Even if the fee was small, I doubt Nintendo would want to let someone else's hand into their cookie jar.

A recommendation question: I kind of want to get a Mega Man game, but I'm not sure if I should go for MM2 or MM9 on Monday (I have less than 1500 points left, so I can only get one). I've never really actually played any game in the series for more than 5 minutes aside from Mega Man 2 for the original Gameboy, which I loved as a kid.

All I know is that MM1 is out of the question.

Well, 2 is a good game and no one really knows how good 9 is. I hear they are trying to make it like 2 because 2 was so great.

It sounds like they are also trying for "oldschool difficulty" with 9, even though 2 is one of the easiest mega mans.
