I've only been playing Halo for a few months (missed the boat one 1 and 2), but I'm a fairly decent player. I'm at rank 20 and I'm looking to get to rank 30. The problem with anonymous Doubles partners is that 1) their skill isn't guaranteed, and WORST of all, 2) they quit over half the time.

Just remember, communcation is your friend. If you know where they are, speak aloud. If you see your partner just died, don't run over there expecting a double kill, wait for him to respawn so you can go 2 on 2.
Personally I recommned familiarizing yourself with location names and direction.
Example:
Contruct - Big Yellow elevator is south, thus I have a East and West Purple room.
Guardian is probably the easiest to refer to.
Elbow, Sniper tower, Sniper ledge, Sniper Spawn, Topside (the big center cirlce), Hammer spawn, the Lift, Stealth Ledge, Blue Room, Shotgun Hall, Tree.
Those things will help for sure. And we'll be able to play to our strengths.. in ball, you'll be the guy who has to bait them with it and I'll keep them dead, in slayer, you'll get the rockets and throw tons of nades, that type of thing. I don't play much doubles but it tends to be on the really easy side. We shouldn't have any issues at all.

anybody up for helping me finish up my Legendary Campaign? I've done co-op a couple levels, and hobbled my way through a few levels on legendary solo.
What I have left is The Ark, The Covenent and Cortana, and all of those seem like a lot for me to get through solo.
Cortana is pretty easy, if you change up your strategy... run through the entire thing! I did it solo on legendary. There is only a couple rooms where you actually need to slow down and fight. The rest is all about running full speed.

By the way, TBKon details will start to be set in stone in January. This is because me and my roommate are looking to move (our current landlord is difficult and going senile), and since our rent payment (480$) is enough to get a house rented, I might be able to hold it at just my place instead of the 2 location setup. Our lease ends in December.
All I can tell you right now is the 'ticket' cost will not go beyond 100$ (This includes boarding, 2-3 meals a day, transportation, etc etc). Aiming for 60-70$.
But you don't really want to bomb throw, since you kind of don't want them to see where you are at.
However, feel free to keep throwing the flag, it just tells us where you are going.

honestly, all they need to do is add a 3 second cooldown for picking it up after it's been dropped.
but that would cut down on people doing useful things
if they could make it so the game starts counting how many times an individual drops and picks up a flag or bomb in a small period of time, and when it reaches something like 3 drops in 5 seconds then nobody can pick it up

I'm still recovering from working a month straight, and that ended 2 weeks ago.
After having worked about 10 days of 12 hour shifts, I came home, hoping to veg out on some halo. Me and my double partner jumped into some matches, and man I couldn't kill shit.
I think the biggest thing was my grenade aim was horribly off. I couldn't stick anything, half the time I threw frag grenades off the maps.
Plus, I was falling for stupid baiting tactics and not watching my radar properly.
It's been 2 weeks since I've had a normal work schedule again, and I'm still not quite throwing my grenades normally, and my rocket launcher aim isn't where I'd like it to be, but I'm doing well enough that we're pushing into the 40s on doubles now.
edit: it might sound weird, but playing thru the campaign really helps me get back into the groove of things.
