Fyre's mini pax review:

PAX pretty much sucked. There were lines for every single fucking thing and booth and whatever. Constantly. If you wanted to do something, you had to wait 2-6 hours in line for it. Wasn't this expo supposed to fix some of E3's problems? Then why the fuck did we starting inheriting some of them? I mean, me and X wasted something like 4-5 hours in line only to be blocked out of the keynote, miss half the Q&A, and then finally see the RvB panel. While it was awesome, half the reason I stuck around was because I was all "fuck you PAX"

However, some of the stuff canceled out most of the suck. Enforcers actually enforcing. The Halo freeplay. The RvB panel. A lot more of the booths getting interactive. People shaking hands in the tourney. (However, the tourney overall was still crap. GG being "not MLG" then having 3-4 MLG teams fucking show up)

Also i get an achievement for being there all 3 days and not running into any non-TBK forumers at all.

More info on GOTY 09

1. It's definitely adapts substantial Company of Heroes game play elements. They didn't show off multi, so I don't know if they'll have the same resource-map elements from CoH, but the multi-layered cover system is fully adapted. They also fully took the "smart" ai elements and stuck them in. Units seek cover, flee when outnumbered, try to outflank, etc.
2. The single player campaign is massive. They said that in a single play through, you could probably only do 50% or so of the missions. After each mission, you have a choose your own adventure junction where you pick what you want to do. Choices open up different story paths.
3. They're substantially scaling back the mission lengths. They said that they want to make each mission a 15-20 minute experience, rather than an hour plus experience.
4. The single player follows the story of 30 marines. You earn loot and abilities for your sergeants. When they die, they can be revived if there is no nearby combat, but their supporting troops do not return. You can only reinforce at certain strategic locations, or once per mission by drop pod.
5. They're spending a LOT more time on making the environment matter. There's a TON more depth to each map, and the textures are pretty amazing. Things like walls even truly block line of sight. Enemies will not agro if they cannot see you.
6. Your sergeants earn experience that can be used to upgrade different stats. You can't 100% max all stats. Progressing up stat lines opens up special abilities, ala Diablo. They showed off the force commander buffing his hit points and unlocking a Taunt ability that allows him to draw agro.
8. There are targets of opportunities that end up giving you campaign buffs. These are usually extremely well guarded. The enemy factions may attack it later in the game.
9. All wargear and armor is visually represented. As you progress, you get more and more ornate power armor.12. Other unit upgrades they mentioned: The scout can get a bonus where he gets 5 1 shot 1 kill sniper attacks a mission. The heavy weapons guy can gain a focused fire ability that lets him double his range and damage for a while.

I'm sorry it sucked for you fyre. I wish it had been better. Some of that couldn't of been avoided, Some of it could. I hope you will forgive me and I will not delay the 360 shipping either. I just hope I have that 360 coffin around here somewhere.

Also, the best moment of PAX was Badman on drums, X on Bass, me on Guitar and my Better Half on vocals for Foreplay/Longtime.

The second best is Nambkab's time lapse photography of me getting pissed off at Guitar Hero: Rock Band edition and telling the booth girl that her drum set can go fuck itself.

The thing is, if people had used basic detective work like you did it would have been fairly easy to find me.

Story of what Fyre is talking about:

I didn't do anything smart like PM Badman, Fyre, X, Viscount, or ANYBODY WHO WAS ALSO GOING TO PAX.

Thusly, I had to use the information I had:
- Ezekiel was an Enforcer in charge of Console Freeplay
- Fyre was talking his 360

SO, if I was going to run into any Bees, I was going to have to think. Not up for that bullshit, I went to Console Freeplay to try and play Halo 1 for Badman's Scavenger Hunt, where there was a whiteboard reading "Halo 3 LAN, Room 309."

This is kind of like saying "TBK ASSEMBLE" without actually writing the letters "TBK SSE"

Of course, I actually WANTED TO FIND the Bees, so that might've been it.

Once my Xbox gets back to Omaha (I had to leave before PAX was done with it) I'll be uploading all the films I got on my HDD. Zeke got a couple to his memory card.

FYI, the only two TBK gametypes we played that I remember were Segata Sanshiro (as the final game) and Laser Tag.

You're bound to see less of me on Halo, Carcassone, Castle Crashers, etc. due to school starting up tomorrow. With my last class ending at 9:15 PM every day except Friday (*whimper*), I doubt I'd have any time outside of the weekend to play in the evening.

I'm not sure about that next year. I'm still undecided. I'm not even sure I want to go back to pax 2009.
