The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Couple things to keep in mind. First, it rarely pours rain in Seattle. We are famous for rain because of the percentage of days per year that we get rain, not the sheer amount. Heck, New York gets more water falling from the sky per year than Seattle. When it rains here, it's generally a light sprinkle, particularly in the summer.
Second, the convention center has an entire block covered over - no worries about getting wet on that block. Everywhere else in downtown, there are covers hanging out over the sidewalks, so just hug the walls and you'll be fine.

If you live in Washington [at least the west side of the mountains] and own an umbrella, i'm gonna tell you to GTFO. If it does rain though, I think it will be a first for PAX, but like previously stated, so much is undercover anyway. Hell, maybe we'll get lucky and have a fierce thunderstorm or two.
Damn it. Rain during PAX? Looks like I'll have to cancel.
Sorry guys no PAX this year maybe next year it'll happen. What can you do? Look on the bright side at least there's still time for you to reschedule and go to E for All.

My god i hope that was sarcasm.
I would rather go to PAX even if there was a guaranteed chance of Apocalypse just in seattle.
Rain kicks ass. Anybody who thinks otherwise can exit the state.
Dear God, I want to live in a state that has rain again. =( The rain I see in Seattle will be the first drops of water from the sky in... jeez... probably 6 months or more.

I thought it was an unspoken rule of the Pacific NW that you're not supposed to tell people that, lest things get too crowded around here...

You know as many times as 'bring deodorant' threads get started on here, I'd think people would be welcoming the rain just as a mitigating factor. :P
Personally, I like rain. With the drought down here in CA, we've already had a two alarm house fire and a three alarm brush fire in my neighborhood this summer. I'm really hoping the rains come early (or at all, really) this year just so my house is safer...

I live in the Alaskan rainforest (The Tongass) and it rains or snows 300 days a year where I am.
As long as it isn't typhooning at PAX, I'm gonna be really freakin' happy.
Or, uh, go across the mountains.
Oh I went to the Tongass Trading Co. and wondered why it was called that (and now I know)
How the shit do you get the tubes there?

It's totally that light summer rain you want to get caught in, not a miserable downpour.

I'm looking forward to it! WOOOOOOOOOT!
I think Ted Stevens personally pumps it over with a hand pump. :winky:
I kid, I kid!
Actually, we just started using steam engines to pump the tubes. Much more efficient than Senator-power!

Well apparently we need to start speaking it.
As long as it's not during landing/takeoff I'm cool with it.
