Nah, that post should work wonderfully. I was always trying to separate it into top/bottom instead of making a bigger shape then taking away from that. Thanks a bunch dude.
I don't know if this has been posted already or not, but a HMX dev gives a shout-out to you guys in the first paragraph. Well done.
That was Gabe, Tycho, Kara, and Khoo, not any PA forum folk. I would have enjoyed organizing some PA-threadwhore people to make a band but the best we did was myself and BlackDragon up there on Sunday.
Was that you that fc'd electric version on vocals sunday? If so, I was chilling out in the crowd for that and golf clapped heartily.

Also, maybe someone can fill me in as I was out of town all weekend....what happened to the Offspring? Weren't they 'announced' or whatever to hit this week along w/ the PAX pack? I can see that obviously didn't happen...so just curious what went down there.
Was there any mention of Rock Band 2 being available on anything other than a console? Like, at all? Like, something they might consider in the future if the stars align just right?
I don't want to buy an X-Box 360 but my options are diminishing.

Not as far as official sources. So far, Rock Band and Rock Band 2 are for PS2, PS3, 360, and the Wii.
Yeah, with the PC market continuing to shrink I wouldn't be shocked if it never comes to PC. There's always a chance that it might, but I wouldn't count on it.
If anyone wants to see the final and the encore from the RB tournament at PAX, some kind soul filmed and posted them:
The Final:
(Warning, GG&HT Length)
The Encore:
(The extra singers were the band that got 2nd place, since they rocked hard too.)
Full Disclosure: I'm the guy with the black shirt and Fedora on playing bass
The guy who kept clapping the tambos in GG&HT was driving me nuts... let them play it themselves, lol!! Great job though - was the #2 team even close in skill?
I would have thought they'd have given out Strats instead of Les Pauls for the prizes, though. Were there Strats available to play on and you guys just chose to use LPs or was that all that was available?
Not too bad, really. The lettering looks a bit spread out. You may want to think about squeezing them closer together, but either way, it does look like the symbol. And in action, most wouldn't notice it anyway.

Also, also, PAX Pack is fun.
Apparently, Offspring wasn't an official announcement. I believe MS posted one of those ads that appear on the blades announcing Offspring and then someone from HMX quickly posted that it wasn't true.
EDIT: From earlier in the thread. (Note: Dollar sign edited out of original post...)

Heheh, I really wonder if all this internet sleuthing is exposing a sizable amount of what they're trying to keep under wraps, or if what we manage to expose is still only a tiny, tiny fraction of what they know/have.

Well holy shit...it's been very curious that we know "Let There Be Rock" is on the setlist but the media hasn't been allowed to talk about it.
If we're getting Live at Donnington as a full album or something then that would be a huge step towards explaining why we can't talk about a song that everyone knows and has been out for over 30 years.
oh man, those PAX rockband videos make me wish I went so bad! I can't wait for god damn east coast pax! I hate that all you westcoasters get all the fun shit.

Harmonix better have a big setup at East Coast PAX considering it's in their hometown.
Was that you that fc'd electric version on vocals sunday? If so, I was chilling out in the crowd for that and golf clapped heartily.
Nope. I got to sing "Chop Suey", "Spoonman", and "Anyway You Want It" during PAX.
Uh and bass for "One Way or Another"
Ah you actually played rb2. I watched a few times and then went over to console freeplay and played rb1 quite a bit. Sadly, my foot refused to do any song requiring tripple kicks (coheed and cambria, queens of the stone age, etc). Best part is where I played on the main stage with some people and failed dead on arrival on expert bass because I had a gh3 controller and my fingers had no clue where the buttons were at first. The crowd let us retry it though, and all was good with the world.
Yeah, BlackDragon and I heard Rock Band music emanating from the Free Play area. While I was interested, I was starving and also heading towards a panel.
I missed out on all the freeplay console stuff as well as the RB tourney due to bad time-keeping and laziness. It's good to hear there was a large turnout for those events, though.
Yeah, it's been that way for like two weeks or so.
Shouldn't be any surprise. I don't think they can list any DLC after RB2's release under Rock Band anymore so they have that set up already. Since "Still Alive" is the free track, I suppose it's there for testing purposes or as a placeholder for any new people buying Rock Band 2.

I wouldn't see why they couldn't. All DLC is supposed to be cross-title, isn't it? Rock Band could be the catch all for all things Rock Band.
But, yeah, I'm sure you've hit the mark with that one.
I kinda think they're really pushing it close with the list of songs that will transfer over from RB1. And a nice step by step of the process. I have 4 gigs left. It'd be nice to know if the previous '6GB needed!' rumor was true.

If it is, think of it as a place holder. Like it needs that space during the transfer process, but not necessarily for the storage of the songs when the process has been completed.
Also, you should think about getting a larger HDD. Either that, or eliminating stuff. Then there will be the ability to 'install' games to the drive this Fall...

Yeah - I just cant get over how damn expensive the drives are.
I really only have regular game saves, a couple DLC packs (Crackdown, Halo 3) and Rock Band DLC. No videos, demos, ect...
I saw someone selling a 40GB drive on Criagslist for $40, but didnt get it because I cant find any record of Microsoft making anything other than 20GB, 60GB and 120GB. Did the 40 exist?

Not for the 360. If the seller says it's supposed to be for the 360, it's probably a mod of some sort. Dodgy... I'm sure if you search around you can find deals on 'official' HDDs. I'm sure plenty of people around here can recommend some things. Me? I went straight for the Elite. I doubt I'll need to worry about disk space for some time now. I still have 90+ GB free.
I've got just over 90 gigs free on my 120 gig drive. The Halo map packs and whatnot take up a gig, my Rock Band DLC takes up 1.9 gig, my XBLA games are like 750 mb total, I've got just under 3 gigs in demos with just 3 demos, about 6 gigs of videos, none of which are movies or television shows...
Did anyone ever find a phone number for the EA support thing? I need to cancel my express RMA and I used the online question service thing but I'd prefer to actually talk to someone and get it taken care of.

follow the steps to do an RMA, and you'll find it.
"So not knowing which "stores" are supposedly receiving RB2 shipments tomorrow, I'm closing this thread to avoid any wild misinformation.
We still haven't received all of our RB2 shipments yet, so I highly doubt that this completely unsupported claim is legit. Keep your eye on Sept. 14th. Until then you shouldn't be seeing any RB2 stuff in stores."
Well I pre-ordered an ION drum set on Amazon. Best to get it from there and get free shipping rather than get charged a bunch of money on the drumrocker.com website... although I have to play ridiculous S+H for the third cymbal from there...

This was posted by the lead singer of The Hillside Thickets - showing off how "Shh" is in Rock Band now.
Obviously, "Shoot to Thrill (Live at Doningto..." is something we've never seen.
Further investigation on the RB forums shows that Shoot To Thrill is on AC/DC's live DVD "Live At Donington", recorded in 1991.
So, AC/DC is on its way...

Go into the XBL Marketplace. Go into Games and All Games. Scroll down to Rock Band.
There's a new listing for Rock Band 2. Only one item is in there. "Still Alive".
Just thought it was kinda weird.
