Okay, lemme trade my Synchronising Abras to my Pearl game (hee hee LEGENDARY HUNTING TIME) then I'll throw a team together.

I will most probably suck, however.

What Pokemon is the Water/Normal combo debated upon? Gyarados/Bibarel?

Azumarill also uses that combo, except it has fighting as well to cover empoleon.

I'm heading on. Prepare to laugh at my ragtag team that probably has a glaring weakness to whatever you're using as a lead today.

...Oh god what am I doing.

Hm, I didn't expect that to OHKO LasagnaCat. Stronger than I thought.

Ha, Obliterate takes your pathetic thunderbolt like a champ. I don't know why I was worried.

Sceptile hits pretty beefily for physical hits, though not quite as nicely as with specials.

    How sturdy -is- Lasagnecat, anyhow?

(I'm really really digging my new girl. She's -hot-.)

Did you forget about Aqua Jet or something? I would have attacked right away. Might have OHKO'd anyway but Dani getting a hit on Tailchaser sealed its fate.

Ah well. Good game, pretty close. My team was really weak to your queen though Flygon getting critted by Aura Sphere didn't help in that regard.

LasagnaCat is sorta sturdy. Usually he can take one hit but not in that case.

Blissey is awesome because she saves you money!

Also, I don't know if it's such a good idea to waste Thunderbolt on Gengar. He can probably work well enough without it. Thunder and Focus Blast can be bought in the department store so I'd consider those two. I didn't give my in-game Gyarados Earthquake and it worked out fine.

Ah well. Good game, pretty close actually. My team was pretty weak to your queen though Flygon getting critted by Aura Sphere didn't help in that regard.

You mean instead of the second statup move? Well, I guess I should have just tried for the OHKO on Dani (which in retrospect, I should have done) then hope to weather the Aqua Jet from OBLITERATE.

Nice new guys on that team, I think I'd only seen three of them before. Ah well. I should pay more attention - I've not been playing much lately, so I need to regain some prediction/strategy experience. That was the best battle I've had with you in ages, too!

Well, infernape has roughly the same physical defenses as Tailchaser and I know Aqua Jet does about 95% to it without a Choice Band on. Still, with a bulky set you might have lived one at full.

My prediction in that battle was pretty meh, but I hadn't seen most of your guys before and didn't really know what they were going to do.

The only new guy I had in there was The Queen, though I don't use Skimmer or Tailchaser that often. I only just figured out how to use Tailchaser, actually, though I need to redo her EVs.

I don't even remember what her EVs -are- though.

The only ones I recalled seeing before were quetzacoatl or however you spelled it and seaspray. But yeah, the Queen was pretty good. She hit my whole team (minus lasagnacat) supereffectively, The only problem was that she didn't have enough power behind the Tbolt to OHKO something as bulky as OBLITERATE.

Yeah, she doesn't hit as hard as I'd like, but still. She's pretty threatening! I was surprised how hard she hit Raze the Roof, though. Might have to play with her EV spread and give her more offense. Dunno, though. I kinda like her bulkiness.

I'm also working on training some TOTALLY BIZARRE POKéMON now, as well as a group of 4-6 Pickup sorts for candy/TM farming, to see how that goes.

Quetzacoatl would be a pretty awesome Pokemon.

Also, are Uxie/Mespirit/Azelf good at all? They seem to have okay stats besides their pretty great defenses, but that seems to be it.

Of course, I don't know much about what makes a Pokemon good.

The metric I use is that 100 is average for a base stat. Any stat higher than that is good.

Azelf is a little bitch and I hate it arrrrgh

By this I mean, it's good.

100 is pretty good. I would say 90 is average. It varies between stats, though. 100 is a fairly average HP stat but a very good defense stat.

Why does the combat system specify the number of items one is using? Is it possible to somehow use multiple items in one turn?

So at 130 base Defense and Special Defense according to Serebii, this means Uzie is pretty awesome?\

Azelf's a sweeper (physical or special, can be either), Uxie's a wall (again, can do either or both), and Mespirit is the all-rounder.

They're pretty good, though we don't usually use Legendaries on here.

Also, Speed/Mushroom's a little harsh on Pokémon. I use plenty with sub-100 stats in the stats I want them for!

Actually, I think the only Pokémon in my last team that had an attacking stat of over 100 was Starmie. Which doesn't actually have over 100, so... yes! Oh, actually. One had 105 and another had 120. So I lied.

I used my Master Ball on Azelf 'cause I was sooooo annoyed with it.

Oh, wait. Is it Azelf or Mespirit that runs? Whichever ran, I MBed. The others that stay in their caves? Dusk Balls out the wazoo after hitting it with sleep moves and False Swipes.

Mespirit (The one that runs) is like all of the others of its ilk in that its HP stays where you left it as it ran, right?

I usually tell people that 100 is the average stat so that it is easier to explain to them why a base att stat of 130 is very good.

But 100 is not necessarily average.

Probably 'cause Dragonite, Metagross and Tyranitar have reeeeeally high stats. :D

I tend to go with Pokémon I think look cool, which is why I'm not that successful a battler. That said, the one team that I sat down and came up with as an actual team works pretty well, even if it's only four Pokémon that make up the core. The rest? I just jam stuff together that don't share many weaknesses! Ask Dingus, he'll tell you.

Metagross is definitely awesome-looking, especially the Shiny version. Dragonite always looked kinda silly to me, though. So does Salamence, but for a totally different reason. I think the only awesome-looking dragons are Flygon and Garchomp, really. Apart from some of the legendaries. Rayquaza's probably my favorite there. Tyranitar looks downright scary!
