I suppose I would be considered a lurker. Strangely though, almost every time I post in a thread, Defender seems to show up soon after.

Simple coincidence or creepy stalking. I'll let you decide....

I don't want to bring a child into a thread as hopeless and crime-ridden as this one.

    This right here...

    you should post more.

    I agree, that was funny.

I am lurking in the lurking thread.

Yeah, this is some post-modern lurking. Still chew on this.

Are you lurking when you are posting in a lurking thread?

I'm a lurker and I approved this post.

What exactly is the upper post-per-day limit to still be a lurker? Also, do you become a "regular" after that limit, or is there just kind a of a middling ground in there?

I think a lurker is not a lurker when he or she is posting in a thread.
    So...this was a trap.

It seems a little silly to try to find a quantifiable way of determining if you are a lurker or not

Nah, I'm still pretty sure they're lurkers. A thread is just like someone turning on the lights in a cockroach infested apartment and all the lurkers scuttling for cover. But, in this one, a couple of them are slow and/or retarded and take awhile to get back in the shadows.

Actually it's not like I don't want to post, usually I'm just too busy. Then when I finally check the forums, 90% of the time I've missed a good conversation I wanted to join in on.

Nah, I wouldn't say you were a lurker. I think you're kind of in that middle ground. You post enough (2.13 ppd), but probably just don't have something to say on every little topic.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I'm more of the "middle ground". I mean, I don't post much so you can't say I'm a regular, but I also have almost 3000 posts so it'd be silly to call me a lurker.

Yeah I usually end up not posting because I think whatever I have to say isn't worth saying (probably correct) and then I get all scared

Or just that I get that 'must read entire thread' thing and then never catch up

I have a terrible habit of that too... I mean, I don't want to under-informed about the thread but then again-- it's SE++. I think a part of that problem is I lurked D&D for awhile, if only to see the conflict.

    Like this thread.

It was perfect for me. Yet I always manage to miss out the meat of the conversation.

Your barometer for posting is "quality y/n"?
