Does anyone know when you can actually buy a domain name if it's supposed to expire next may? Is it the same minute it actually expires, or is there a couple month 'whoops' period for the current owner?
Yeah, I'm not going to spend hundreds on domain grabbers as it doesn't bug me if I don't get it. I highly doubt other people are going to be pushing hammer and tong to get the thing, and if they are then, meh. I'll have wasted maybe $20. Thanks for letting me know it's 75 days after what WHOIS said, though.
Environmentalists need to create a more coherent thesis for why transmission cables destroy land than 'the land is different.' Is there any real basis for their objection aside from the facts things would look different? Is the latent electromagnetic radiation from high-tension cables, and the towers, disruptive to wildlife?
Well, it's my last name. And I want to make a portfolio website. Plus just having some storage space and shit on the interwebs that isn't so spread out so I have a backup beyond my external. If I don't get it then I'll just stick with the first name + middle initial + last name.com that's apparently available. I had no idea how any of that stuff works and figured some of you nerds might know.
And I like renewable energy. So long as it doesn't actually screw up the wildlife there in a negative fashion I can't say I really care how it looks.
I recognize that every desert is different and every desert has its own charms, but we're also not changing that entire desert. There will be parts of it that are still it, and there will be parts that acquire a new beauty imbued by the hand of man. Quantifying it requires at least one hand-wave (segmentation and likely also determination of smallest-considered unit), but I'd be comfortable personally saying that we created more new vistas and more new kinds of beauty than we abolished.
